I could only eat stone crab for the rest of my life and be perfectly happy lol my Dad worked as an offshore welder and a lot of his buddies were stone crabbers. Only realized how generous they were to me when I had to start buying mine 😂

Love the channel man! Sending praise from SW FL🎉 also I like the regular large size. More flavor and some lemon and hot kerrygold butter make it complete. Half the fun is in the crackin lol

I'm from WV and I'm even excited for the maryland crab season cause my buddy is from up there and is gonna overnight me some crabs. It'll be the first time time I've ever tried crab that wasnt frozen for 6 months, plus it's those Maryland blues that everybody talks about. I cant wait lol.

I agree I’d take blues or even dunges over stone any day plus they dont cost 20 bucks a claw 😂

I lived in Michigan all my life (40 years), and we moved to Tennessee last July to be with my son as he went to school here. I'm truly envious that you live so close to the ocean (my dream), as my wife wants nothing to do with living by the ocean. I'll just live vicariously through you as you eat all the delicious food!

I am jealous. Stone crab is delicious and the shells make amazing broth

Stone Crabs is one of the most sustainable foods out there. Only one claw is collected from every crab and it's sent back to the gulf so it can grow it back next year.

So true while the taste might be slightly different at the end of the day they’re both still crab claws so they’re both still tasty!

I'm from Florida stone crab season is about over. I wonder what you paid for them up there? $30 a pound for large stone crab here in Hudson. Blue crab is harder to come by but yes it is sweeter

Baltimore transplant speaking here from over a decade now living in Seattle, where the primary crab available is Dungeness.

I spent my childhood going out summer Sundays in a rowboat on Bodkins Creek, a tributary that empties into the Chesapeake. We'd set out trot lines of empty plastic milk jugs joined by a length of narrow rope with chicken necks dangling from them tied by lengths of twine. Back then we'd fill up a bushel or two of delicious blue crabs from our trot lines to steam for a family gathering that afternoon.
SO yummy.

If you're trying out every type of crab, I'll warn you that Dungeness crabs have no flavor, not even sweetness. Much as I love all things crab (steamed, cake, soup, dip) I gave Dungeness two widely-separated tries and gave up.
SO disappointing.
