I have had that same feeling of nothingness thousands of times in my 81 years of life.
Just like that bright star in the sky that has probably burnt out billions of years ago but is still Shining because of its position in space and time so we also will be eternally shining by the grace of God.

When I was 17 I had a similar experience while contemplating death. It was the first time I reallly really thought about what it would mean to die and at the end of that train of thought was the idea of non being. I went into full panic mode and felt so scared. All of a sudden nothing really made sense to me and I lost connection to my world. The idea of nothingness scared the absolute piss out of me and I disassociated. Its been 7 years and i'm still healing. The interesting thing is pondering the idea of nothingness really relates to the idea separation. When in that fear or "cold feeling" it isnt the nothingness that is scary because nothingness doesn't exist, its the idea of absolute isolation. What it leads to is feeling alone in life which translates to the fear of death for a lot of people. When you are truly connected fear of death has no place in our life. When you are disconnected it rules it.

This channel just popped as I was having those feelings of what’s it all about . Do we have something to look forward after life here? Will I really ever see anyone again....even in just a heavenly, spiritual, peaceful way? My brother died this year, my mother two years ago, and am wondering who is next in my family, as my others brothers are getting older and talking about Wills, etc. This all is making me miss my Father and Grandparents who passed on long ago. I miss them all so much. My memories of decades ago when we were little and the family would get together in the big is all no more. I’ve done the healthy, positive life step of getting on with my life, moving forward, making new memories with my husband and two grown children, but today I am so sad and just feeling a pain of a void that hurts so much. Especially since my children never knew my father, and others in the family that they would have dearly loved. I’m sure whomever is starting to watch this channel also is here because of similar feelings, so it makes me not feel so alone and sad about it. Maybe God is touching my heart with this, as it does help. Thank you.

I remember thinking about nothingness as a kid maybe age 7. I had a mental image of earth crumpled up like a piece of paper and there was nothing but white space. I thought, what if we weren't even here. It was mind boggling.
