The simplest answer is usually the correct one. There has always been something. Einstein called it space time. It has always existed. We know matter is just a state of energy and particles can appear and disappear without leaving a trace. Space wasn't empty to begin with. The concept of Infinity is the bit people can't accept.

It's ok to say... we simply don't know.

How am I existing right now? You. Me. Us. How are we floating about in outer space? How can we exist? How did all of this come from nothing? Where was the start? How can a start even exist? It's truly out of the realm of imagination. If it all came from energy, how can the first energy arise from nothing? If Our Creator (assuming we have one) came to us with an explanation, I wonder if we'd have the intelligence to understand such a question.

The only way to attempt to grasp this, is to first admit that time and nothing does not exist. We simply can't think "outside" the code of reality we were created inside. Our perspective is limited. I wonder if this will one day change? If it's possible to ever expand consciousness to solve the mystery of our genesis.

This is the question I was asking myself from my childhood which often turns my mind into emptiness

My mind is blown. WHY DOES ANYTHING EXIST... including nothingness? They are both perplexing. Does nothingness exist as empty space? Isnt space itself SOMETHING? SO is nothingness a solid? Nothing makes sense anymore.

I once heard the expression/question " If god doesn't exist then what created the universe & if god does exist then what created it"? Always thought that was deep!

Humans cannot comprehend this question. This right here, is the limit of our knowledge. No matter what your thoughts/beliefs are on this topic, you simply do not know. The more you think about it, the closer you come to insanity.

It's like asking a computer to think outside of its code, it would simply break the machine.

Imagine you're in a video game and you run towards the edge of the map. It's a point that you cannot go beyond, because beyond that point, nothing exists.

There can never be “nothing” because the potential of “something” always exist which means “nothing” cannot. The energy of our universe came from this potential energy.

the comment threads on these types of science or philosophical videos tend to be more useful than the videos themselves

Nothing creates nothing if someone is creating nothing it means that there is something.

Something had to exist because something cannot be created from nothing. Not one thing can be created from nothing. Hell, noy even empty space. There's a thought. Try to think of nothing, no space, no matter, no time. The mind boggling question had to be how did something come into being, and there had to have been something because nothing cannot exist. My head hurts.

The universe has always existed. It's not within anything else. Because there is nothing else. It is existence itself. It's everything. It stretches to infinity. With no end. No beginning. It's the beginning, the end and everything in between. And it will always exist. It's just as simple as that. You can question the unquestionable all you want but you'll never arrive at a satisfactory conclusion.

The problem is that we humans learned to think in time. When I was stoned 50 years ago, I told my friends and friends, that we are only energy. We are only a fantasy and illusion of ourselves.

I believe that there are things in the universe that are far beyond our comprehension and understanding.

As humans we require everything to have a catalyst. But perhaps it has always been which makes no sense to us. But then have a look at the pale blue dot from Voyager 1 and imagine how small and insignificant we are in perspective and then it may be easier to accept that it’s ok that not all things will make sense to us. It’s overwhelming.

How come Andromeda is coming towards us and will eventually collide when the universe is expanding and all galaxies are moving away from us?

For me i believe it did not start from nothing, but it started from something that is not seen

It’s our experiences of life that cause us to demand that everything have a beginning, a time before it existed, with the means by which it was created being discoverable. But in fact, there is nothing to say that it hasn’t always existed, our inability to comprehend it notwithstanding.
