I upgraded from a 3600 to 5600 as the 3600 kept giving blue screen errors and will be sent back for RMA. Still have yet to get a gpu. Overall the desktop use feels snappier. Surprised the gaming fps seems quite a bit better

Let's be honest. If you have a "high-end" GPU, you're not going to play at 1080p, minimum of 2k, but most of the times 4k. At those resolutions, bottleneck it's not the CPU anymore, in fact you aren't going to notice any difference in some games, and in others difference will be 2-4%

The numbers are tempting me to upgrade my 3600. I understand you have to eliminate bottleneck that's why 3090 was used even in 1080p but yeah it's unrealistic. Guess i'll just wait for am5 or next gen intel. Good iob though!

The 3600 is perfect with zero bottleneck for a card like the 5700xt or the 6600, anything more you will see a bottleneck for sure 👌

12th Gen and Zen 3 are worth processors, in eSports games you can expect a huge increase of FPS (like +100FPS). In modern games a better GPU usage which make us gain 20+ FPS (considering that CPU has a great impact on DirectX 12), for me isn't worth buying old architecture CPUs now a days. Even a i3 12100 is a lot better if you are looking for a budget CPU.

I used two cpu. It stutters and freezes in background apps with a low gpu of 3600. You get less fps with a good gpu. With the 5600, you don't experience stuttering and freezing with low gpu. you get better performance with good gpu. yes it's not a very good upgrade. but you get your money's worth. If you have little money, definitely buy 5600 instead of 3600. I don't review, I experienced this bad situation.

More than made up with the 5600. Massive jump in gaming and everyday tasks compared to the Ryzen 3 1200AF. Also recommend the ID-COOLING SE-224-XT black cooler, one of the easiest coolers to install on AM4.

I paid pennies to upgrade from a 3600 to an used 5600. So worth it!

Both achieve Avg fps above 60fps, so they do practically the same thing for me.

The 5600 is only a bit more expensive than the 3600 but looks a lot faster.

I mean, the difference is definitely there. You could still get along with a slight bottleneck, the 3600 is still pretty decent. if one was to upgrade on same socket, 5700X/5900X would probably be a better choice.

Ryzen 5 3600 was paired with higher end Gpu (gpu is bottlenecked) here to show show bigger gap between 2 cpu-s than it really is.
Don't fall for it.
Gap is less than 20% on average.
I went from i5 4460 to ryzen 5 3600 which is 265% faster and i don't see huge difference.
Why would someone upgrade over 20%?
