Our apartments/flats here in the US are “move-in-ready” and come with a fully-equipped kitchens and some even have dishwashers. Light fixtures are installed already. Same thing applies if you rent a house.

I’m familiar with that German apartment set-up; I lived in Germany for 10 years back in the 1970’s. My apartment was “bare bones” when I moved in except for some kind of central heating provided by a built-in coal stove/furnace 😳. It was no fun having to wake up to an ice cold 🥶apt and having to kindle a fire to get the briquettes coals going. Glad to know the apartments in Germany now come with better furnace options but still no kitchens. However, I imagine that due to the critical shortage of housing in Germany nowadays, any apartment will do because of the fierce competition in obtaining one. Greetings from west Texas 😎🌞🌵🌻

I lived in Dusseldorf and found it easier to get a place to live than New York City.

I rented my first (furnished) apartment in Germany from abroad online on Homelike platform. Very convenient for first couple of months

In India, especially in north, its quite easy to get accomodation in a hostel like place with food, Laundry, etc if you're a bachelor's. (And you can be rejected if you are in a relationship).
But if you're a family, options are a lot but finding a perfect accomodation is quite challenging

I appreciate the honesty. Not everything is rainbows and sunshine. There many awesome things, but some things also suck
