Just wait till he has to leave an Apartment and restore it back to how it was when he moved in :P

In Germany you're not renting an apartment. You're renting an empty box and gotta build the apartment inside it yourself 😂

Ngl when I grew up in Germany the Keller was the creepiest place there was. It was locked heavily behind a big door and often some lamps were broken so it felt like you were alone in the deepth of a bunker. It was so terrifying when my mother asked me to get something from our unit.

There are only 2 kinds of Basements in Germany.
1) looks like from a Haunted House
2) looks like its the Basement from a Serial Killer, and somwhere are the Hostages.

This is literally the basement in every basic German house with rental apartments! 🤣😂😂

Wait until he hears about free-standing wardrobes and pedestal fans.

Your videos are very funny yet somewhat helpful.
I hope we can meet one day in Germany.

He wasn't even shocked that there is no air conditioner

well, since our walls are made of a bit more than cardboard, built-in wardrobes aren't that common. and basements here are for storage (food and clutter lol), not for hanging out. what i don't get is why you have to bring your own kitchen (i'm swiss and i didn't know that was common in germany until like a year ago).

To be fair, in Germany time limited rent contracts are very rare, and do legally require proper reason. Usually you can stay as long as you want/ can afford to pay rent.
Which is also, why bringig your own wardrobe/ kitchen can make sense. There are people, renting the same apartment/ house for decades.

Loved living in Germany. Although (Australian) I’d be so thankful when I befriended an American and we’d just hang out and be clueless together.

Why would you need a ceiling fan? Isn't that for very warm climates to circulate the air?

Germans don't call it a a dungeon.

You grew up in a newly built upper middle class housing development in America. The purpose of most old basements was to allow easy access to plumbing, fuse boxes, and maybe some storage. Not everyone has the luxurious option of a play space

Definitly make sure you have a handover protocol with all the blemishes the appartment had before you moved in.
