I'm writing every single house possible and I got only 2 answers. One of them wanted an interview and after that never rejected or accepted me. Got no answer. Luckily, my aunt lives 1 hour away from my school. I will stay with them until I find an accommodation. I wish everyone lots of luck for finding a house :)

I never understood the idea of competition for housing, i mean if there is soo unpredictability involved with shelter in Germany how is it suppose to attract foreign students for higher education. Its too draining for students (especially international) who not only have to go through this problem but also bad job market, basic jobs to fulfill needs etc. Atleast i feel shelter should be sorted to maintain that peace of mind.

Worst part about searching for accommodation: if your budget is low and you´re forced to live in a shared apartment ppl want a whole ahh scan of you like CV, Interview etc. probably the worst part of it and honestly other countries do it better you simply speak to the landlord and easy peasy

the best way to find affordable housing is to avoid big, expensive cities like Munich, Berlin, Frankfurt, Stuttgart since quality of universities are relatively the same, if you could find similar program in a cheaper city/town, it might improve your student life or even learning experience greatly

Months to get an apartment? What are you talking about? I heard in other videos that you live in munich, why dont you said that here? Its true that the housing market is a nightmare in munich but there are many good places where the one offering the apartment need months to find a renter. I mean its true that the jobs requiring phd-s are mostly in these expensive cities but if you dont have a degree like that you should go to affordable places, since professionals(like welders and cnc machine operators) in industry are making almost the same salary both in munich and rhine-ruhr area.
