Thank you, thank you, thank you Dr Chua! You just saved me from spending $975.00 on a “Blephex” procedure “prescribed” by my Ophthalmologist!! You also confirmed my preferred selection of an electric heat mask rather than a microwave version recommended by the office salesperson. Thirdly, I now know that individual blister “vials” are more prone to contamination than Systane special packaged bottles. Your videos have given me the unbiased information and confidence to treat my dry eyes safely, effectively, and efficiently at home. I’m a very disciplined and frugal individual…I can do this! Thank you! I wish you abundant prosperity, love and light! 🙏🏾

If you get dry eyes at night, use Glad Press 'n Seal. Cut 2 squares off at least 2" larger than your eyes so they fully cover around your eyes. Press them on over your eyes before going to bed. They need to be big enough to cover the whole area around your eyes, not just your eyes. No air can get in making a complete seal around your eyes. Yes, they stay in place all night and are completely sanitary to use because nothing can get in under them. When you wake up, you will have a lot of moisture under them that kept your eyes moist all night long. They will stay moist until you remove them. It's more comfortable and cheaper than goggles and eye masks. I have MGD and RCE, and this works great. Good luck!

0:18 I have suffered from dry eyes for decades and recently developed surfer’s eye. The two issues are likely related. Diet has helped some, but it has never been enough. I write to celebrate true relief with the recommended compress. I have tried compresses before but my homemade compresses were always too hot/too cold and I doubt the sessions ever lasted 20 minutes. My compress arrived yesterday and I applied it right away. My eyes were literally so oily afterward that I could not focus. This morning, my eyes feel fabulous. This is the only true relief I have ever experienced. I bought the less expensive model which does not have a temperature reading. I used it one notch below max and it was perfect for me. Thanks so much for sharing this meaningful tip.

1. Decrease screen time (every 20 minute blink break)

2. 3:20 Moisture chamber glasses and goggles (silicone eye cups preventing tears from evaporating, block pollen etc.., needs to be well fitted) like manufacturer sienna

3. Raise humidity in environment. Humidifier. In car air vent not facing face.

4. Warm compress 8:20 mark. Optimized when: atleast 104 deg (warm towel can cool off) dont want to heat too much for burn. Recommened 20-25 minutes 111 to 113 deg (ideal temp for warm compress) 1-2 x/days
16:04 experiment used a pizza thermometer. And checked temp of eyes as well as warm compress.. Reached eyelid temp ideal is 105 deg (i may use my silicone water bottle) he used electrical warm eye compress on high and eye lid stayed at 105 deg after 20 min.

5. 24 min mark. After warm compress do strong blinks. Counter traction massage using clean hands.

6. 27:00 minute mark. Omega 3 fatty acid oils. Flax..etc. research may not support evidence. Some people have said it helped

31:00 mark overall review

What about eye drops?

Thanks Dr. Chua. This is by far the best video for treating dry eye symptoms naturally with scientific data to back them up. Please make more videos like this and give us recommendations of the products that we can try at home.

I found the Aroma electrical compress on Amazon last year. I’m a patient and told my eye specialist and optometrist about it! It’s amazing. But… I had only been using it for 10 min. Thanks! Going forward I’ll use it for 20 min. EXCELLENT video! 😊

What I'm doing more often to help my eyes is standing in the shower letting warm water run on my eyes and face. It helps my sinus problem and my eyes and it's so pleasant. Never measured temperature, but feels so good. Really good video. I've had my doctor tell me the same things you're saying but often I miss the key points. I don't think I'm incapable of learning... honestly I just don't want to change my viewing habits.

The electrical eye mask is so easy to use, you can add 'moisture, kick back, listen to music. Not that pricey either. I learned more from Dr. Chua than 4 visits to different eye docs. Great ideas, so easy to listen to, the best online /bedside manner on YT. I have 'dry eye' but 90% blocked tear ducts. Wind makes me tear and I'm 3, 000 miles in 2 yrs of e mtn biking, ski 60 days a year, play tennis a very dry Utah environment. Glad to wear goggles vs tearing at speed! I'd like to avoid bleph /DHR surgery if possible, so these tips are great.

Thank you so much for this video! My eye doctor told me that my dry eye was so severe that my eyes were literally peeling. We tried moisturizing drops, steroid eye drops and ointment, and she suggested that I wear an eye mask when I sleep at night. After all of that, my eyes got worse, so she suggested that I wear contact lenses to help, but also letting me know that it was just a “bandaid”, and wouldn’t cure the problem. Within 10 seconds of putting the contacts in, there was a miraculous difference in my eye comfort! Before, I didn’t even want to open my eyes because it was so uncomfortable, but it provided a layer that has truly helped me immensely! I definitely will be trying some of your recommendations to see if it will help alleviate the discomfort in a more permanent way. Thank you again for your time, research and advice! God bless you! 😊

Excellent Vlog. I find you genuine and straight forward honest. That is what we need instead of buying products that does not help.

I am now on cpap therapy as of three months ago and have had severe dry eyes for a long time....I started putting a wet face cloth on my eyes at bed time to stop the extra air movement and voila it seems to have cured my dry eyes. It can be warm...cool...whatever...just seems the moisture has greatly helped my dry eyes. I replace it whenever needed during the night until morning (if up to the bathroom or turn over and lose it). It is well worth the effort.

I have dry eye and blepharitis since cataract operation. I have been in pain/discomfort for months. I recently bought moisture chamber glasses and wear them every day they have certainly helped. I also bought the moisture chamber sleeping goggles and I wake up with my eyes moist, they also help. Before wearing these glasses I could not go outdoors when it was windy or when the weather was cold. I have seen an improvement over the last couple of week, but it is a very slow process. I have to have a cataract operation on my other eye, but at the moment I am waiting to see if the surgeon can do it due to my dry eyes.

I love your videos, and thank you for being so thorough, direct and to the point. You don't waste ones time with a bunch of double speak, making me literally want to watch the information you supply. If only some others, whom say they care, would be so considerate and concerned with the public good.
