I remember this was THE first clip of the movie promo'd all over the news and THE first glimpse of a star wars film we had seen since 1983

The first 20 seconds of the scene with the droid notifying maul as he looks on and mounts his speeder is such a sick vibe, with the sinister music in the background. Maul is the coolest

In hindsight, My favorite part is Darth Maul just wanting to run over a kid for no reason at all. 😂

And ever since, Anakin gravely mistook the low ground for safety...

Great scene with excellent energy. Maul’s black cloak swirling in the dust as he relentlessly attacks Qui Gon is great. Very well directed.

Maul had no idea who Anakin was, so it makes it all more funnier that at 0:27 he just sees a random kid and tries un-exist him😂

That iconic shot at 1:09 from the original teaser trailer made a promise the actual film was not able to deliver on. I was there, 4000 years ago when this movie first hit theaters.

When I first knew him, your father was already a great pilot. But I was amazed how strongly the Force was with him

just fighting maul with one lightsaber and he is clearly like.. wow. dude is tough... got some moves. ya know not everything hold up but i never noticed, this is clear foreshadowing and such (Watched it also as a wii lad... no not that wee lol).. jinn was not winning the fight and maul was not even using his true preferred saber form of dual arts. he just there after like...
thats all?

The problem with qui gon jinn and darth maul is that qui gon was in his 60’s and was getting old so he wasn’t in as good shape and maul was almost at his peak before losing to obi wan as maul was young and very athletic or quick. Maul is underrated in my opinion

The weird edit at the end where Jinn jumps up to the ramp seemingly without Maul doing anything about it, and then Maul unaccountably rising from a crouching position, is due to a bit that was unfortunately cut from the fight. The original idea was that Maul would jump up on the ramp right after Jinn (which makes sense -- why would he just let him go?), but then Jinn would slice off the latter portion of the ramp right behind him, on which Maul were standing. Maul's rising from a crouching position was due to him having fallen back to the ground after Jinn cut the ramp. It should have been left in (as so many sequences should have been left in, here and in the final hangar fight), as its absence led to some ungainly cuts between shots.
