Europe is beginning to recognize menopause as a disability, which for many women it is. I'm disabled completely from a very abrupt onset at 46 and my life depends on BHRT....I've still not regained my independence and I'm not fully functioning. This is very scary. And I hear through friends and cousins that they know of women who are going through menopause in their 30's now. I cannot believe this is not raising alarm bells. This very early onset, minus the severe heath issues that can lead to it, it very alarming and I cannot understand why it isn't in the news more. It's 2022!

At 37 I noticed my body start to change, and by 38 I was having debilitating chronic nausea happening every time my ovulation was coming near or going on and also a week before or few days before my period. It got to a point I no longer could eat. I lost nearly 20 lbs and it was the scariest thing in my life! I thought I was going to die. I had a lot of anxiety and panic attacks and trembling in the mornings, and it felt just like morning sickness. It is not uncommon for the very beginnings of perimenopause or the very first changes to start in the late thirties. I developed basically severe PMS. If you are a sensitive person, you will be in tune with it more quickly than others and notice the changes. I’m now on nuva ring!

I just recently found out I have perimenopause for the last 2 almost 3 years. Insurance refuses to help with hormones so doc refuses to even talk about options to fix this.... Felt like I was going nuts.
Doctor flat out told me the hormones are "too expensive for people like me"...which yes. They are. Out of pocket is not an option I have a 2 yr old and a teenager to raise. What do women like me do??

This is exactly what happened to me and it was over 10 years before a therapist told me, not my Dr, but a therapist!!! My Dr still doesn't discuss it.
