At 45 I had 2 periods in a month, and my gyno ordered a uterine biopsy - which is an incredibly painful procedure. Instead of considering that it could be a perimenopause symptom. Why don't doctors know more about this?!?

I experience horrific anxiety and depression just before my period, during and a few days after...its honesty debilitating and i hinestly fear i miggt do somwthing to myself when in trapped in that dark place for that week or so. Its so scary, ive never experienced anxiety like this before, its literally like being trapped in my head with a bunch of horrible, demons, fearful thoughts constantly torturing me. Its so bad 😢

I'm turning 54 this month(Aug 21st 2023), & have had one symptom or more for probably around 10 yrs! (& My period has always had a short cycle, coming every 22 days, after lasting a full wk, sometimes longer as I got older) .About a yr & 1/2 ago, I had some pretty heavy periods, (which didn't go well with having a solo cleaning business!) So I finally got a low progesterone IUD. (didn't need it for birth control, just the bleeding), & it has made a difference!! Its so nice not getting a period every month, after having one for 40 yrs!! The first 3-4 months were a little tough. Still had some sporadic bleeding, & crampy, uncomfortable feelings, as your body gets used to having something foreign in there, but if you can get through the first 3 months, you'll be SO glad you did!!! Its been a life changer. I still get hot flashes, mostly at night, but no periods is a blessing!!
I would like to know what anti anxiety & depression med she referred to as helping. I definitely need that.

Just turned 47. It seems mine started at 42 and I had no idea. I had an episode of bleeding that lasted a month then it just went away. Never linked it to perimenopause in my mind. My period skipped s few times here and there but the anxiety is out of control. Also dizziness, inability to tolerate caffeine or alcohol.

I’m 42 & have noticed SO many of these symptoms! And it’s already been going on for YEARS. I never thought of menopausal symptoms being something I’d experience in my late 30’s and early 40’s but I am so thankful for videos like yours that help us all better understand what to possibly expect and that we’re actually normal! Thank you 🙏 ❤

Thank you so much for this video. Yesterday(10/3/23) was sheer hell for me. It was my very first day of experiencing very intense and uncomfortable hot flashes.🥵 During prior months, I'd been dealing with painful joints, headaches, bad mood swings, trouble sleeping, sometimes crying spells, feeling drained and depleted of physical energy, memory lapses, constant cravings for sweets just to name a few strange symptoms. Now I know I'm not going crazy. Whew!😅 I just purchased some over the counter remedies at present to calm the intensity of the flashes. So, I will see how I'm fairing within the next couple of weeks. These flashes hit every hour. I'm drinking ice water to cool off and my thermostat is on 72 degrees, so, my place is comfortably cool. I will research and check out other options ( just in case) mentioned in this video. Thanks, Rena. ☺️
