Im in the pre menopause stage in my late 30s. I find at the moment diet is everything. Drinking green tea, peppermint tea. Ginger tea Eating lots of salads and nuts and fish. Avoiding sugary foods and process foods at all cost works alot . Take loads of supplements. Iron, ginko bibola and gingseng, vitamin b and vitamin c and vitamin D. All help with cognitive issues. I find doing times tables in my head helps with my memory issues. And keep me more focused on tasks. Doing breathing exercises will help with with anger and stress and anxiety. Doing dbt therapy works with low self esteem. There a lots of dbt therapy videos on YouTube.

I feel like you’re speaking directly to me! I’ve never considered myself ADHD…but the last few years I present like a text book case!

I have noticed that I prefer silence . I do not want to hear anyone talking on and on . This makes it very difficult to call my father 😐 I also only like to pay attention to something ( book, movie …) for about twenty minutes .

Thank you!!! This is me - I wish I had known earlier. Am in the UK and on HRT (thank god). Waiting for an ADHD assessment.

Oh, YES! My perimenopause symptoms were progressively getting out of hand. Night sweats, hot flashes, heart palpitations, going from low blood pressure as my normal to pre hypertension, weight gain, emotional basket case, brain fog, ADHD symptoms basically unmanageable. I didn’t recognize myself, and my marriage was crumbling. I went to see my OBGYN as a last resort. I’m 4 months in with HRT and I have done a 180. I have been able to actually decrease my dosage of ADHD medicine.

Really interesting! I’m a trans man and I never considered that hormones might have been a big part of why my symptoms got more difficult to manage when I started testosterone.

I never thought I had ADHD. Now post menopause I’m pretty sure I do 😮

The ADHD is kicking my butt right now. I have such bad PMDD I am on progesterone and that is no longer working to help me feel better. My next step is surgical menopause this fall. I am only 43. I cannot deal with this for another 10 years.
