Don't know where to start when it comes to making bread? Do you only have all-purpose flour? Scared you're going to fail? Fear not!! This is the bread recipe you've been looking for! I will show you how to make bread step by step! Let's do this!!

White Bread Recipe:

4 cups warm water
2 TBSP. active dry yeast
Dash of white granulated sugar
Mix together and let "foam" for 10 minutes in a warm place, covered.

After 10 minutes, pour yeast mixture into large mixing bowl. Add:
1 TBSP. salt
1/3 cup olive oil
1/3 cup honey
5 cups all-purpose flour
Mix. Add 5-7 more cups flour (ONE CUP AT A TIME) until dough is smooth and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
Knead by hand on lightly floured surface for 5-8 minutes. Place dough in a greased large bowl and spray dough with cooking spray. Then cover with a dish towel and let the dough rise until doubled in size, 30-45 minutes. Generously grease 3 (9 x 5 in) loaf pans and set aside.
Punch down the dough, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead it briefly to remove the air bubbles. Divide dough in thirds, knead each section a few times, and then shape into a loaf. Place the dough into prepared loaf pans. Rub the top of the loaves with soft butter then cover with a dish towel and let rise 30-45 minutes.
Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake the loaves for 30 minutes. Immediately remove loaves from pans and cool on a wire rack. Rub the top with butter while still hot!
You can freeze this bread in a freezer bag for up to 2 months!

I am 58 years old. My Mother is from North Dakota. Growing up I use to always watch her make homemade bread. Watching her kneed and kneed her dough in a huge wash tub. Watching her let it rise. We never bought a Loaf of Bread out of grocery store. We had a red handle bread knife that you could adjust to the size of the sandwich bread you wanted. I'll never forget how hard she worked a 40 hour a week job and made bread for the whole week. I miss those days. She is 81 now and back in North Dakota. What a Glorious Mother she is.

It is so beautiful to see a young woman who has mastered these traditional techniques. I'm 81 and have been making bread for 65 years also learned from my mother. With current prices a loaf of your bread would cost no more than $1 instead of $3 up to $7. All during covid my daughter in-law did our grocery shopping and I baked 8 loaves and shared them with her. There is nothing more rewarding than making bread.
My mom, who had dementia, came for supper the day I made bread. She sat herself down on a kitchen chair and sniffed and then in a sweet voice she said "oh, you made bread! Can I have the heel and lots of butter." Roles had been reversed. I am so blessed by having a mother like her. She died peacefully in my arms at 89. Your video made me happy and took me back to better times. Your Mom must be so proud of you. Thank you..

I have made many loaves of bread but always looking to try new recipes. I used olive oil instead of canola oil & added about a teaspoon of honey instead of sugar to the yeast water. good! What I like is it comes together fairly quickly AND two bonus loaves to gift to friends or family!! Its a nice change from the crusty artisan bread that I most often make. Great instructions!! If you've never made bread, this is a great recipe that you'll likely make over & over again!!

My Grandmother taught me to make bread when she came out to South Dakota to visit . I would make 12 loaves a week because my neighbors would smell my bread and came bearing something to trade . It worked out good because I got farm fresh eggs and fresh milk with the cream still on the top. My girls was in high school before they tasted store bought bread. Got to start making bread sgain😊

This is truly the best bread making tutorial I’ve watched on YouTube-and I have watched at least 50…maybe more!😵‍💫 Your MOM must be so proud of you, and she must have been a wonderful “teacher.” The dough, and finished loaves looked perfect. I bet the bread 🍞was really delicious. I’m going to give your method and recipe a try…I’ve already tried others a few times, and not had much success…but you have inspired me to try again. I’m 74 years old…I wish I had learned the art of bread making when I was your age. Thank you so much.😊😋I’m sure I’m going to learn a lot from your channel. 🥰

I used to think that making bread was much more difficult. Thanks for your patience, deliverance and tolerance. You are a great teacher.

I made the bread and it turned out really yummy. I made it late afternoon, I only had one loaf pan so I had to put my 3rd loaf in the fridge since I had to cook it one at a time. I am waiting on my second loaf and hope to done by 1:00 am. The house smells amazing, I am now told no more buying bread, the family loves the bread my 1st loaf is gone, we all had a late evening sandwiches 🥪. I would upload photos but I am not seeing that I can do that. Thank you for sharing your recipes.

I just made this amazing bread. Just please give your mom a hug and a kiss from me for teaching you to make this delicious bread. Thank you for sharing this step by step video! You were oh so right about the aroma! I had my butter and knife waiting as soon as my loaves came out of the oven. Y'all this bread is absolutely delicious! My kids kept saying, "this bread is so good"! But don't just take my word for it, try for yourself it's so easy!

WOW....OMG I am SO shocked at how great this bread came out. I read a comment on here that said it was the closest to store bought bread, and what a true testimony!! I've tried so many recipes and finally landed on the perfect one!! Thank you thank you thank you!!! Oh and for those who question if you can just use sugar instead of honey, yes yes you can and it comes out perfect!! I think really getting all the air out helped with the texture of the bread. Also the ingre are just the right amount of everything.

You’re a fantastic teacher. Very well explained and executed. I had been making bread for numerous years, but due to diets, etc, I had stopped. I just started again and was looking for a refresher. Your video was just the ticket. Kudos!

WOW, that was terrific. I watched with fascination. Will try to bake one. I am an 81 year old great grandma who gave up baking 10 years ago when my dear husband reposed. I used to bake the best yeast dough Easter Bread (Kulich). Your bread reminded me of this; except Easter Bread is a rich sweet bread. Thanks for inspiring me.

Sheri,
Thank you for this recipe! I’m 68 and I used to make homemade bread when our children were little! One Christmas I made Rolls for us and my sister and her husband! They were really good and I didn’t forget how! Ha, ha! I think it’s like riding a bike, you just don’t forget how to do it!!
I’m anxious to try your recipe! I’m sure I’ll love it!! It has really made me hungry for homemade bread!!
Thank you again,

Fabulous recipe, I love homemade bread so I will most definitely make this one, thank you!! I just wanted to suggest to you to put a pot under the faucet to collect the water while you wait for the warm water to come, you can always use it in your washing machine, instead of it just running down the drain. Water is one of the most precious resources we have, believe me, you'll be saving money by doing this. Thanks again for the recipe.
Stay healthy and safe.
XO

Wow. So easy and intuitive. That's the mark of a great baker and artist. I love the way you are hands on with the measuring cup and the flour, paying close attention to the look and feel of the dough instead of depending on exact measurements. This is the way our mothers did it. Thanks again for sharing.
