That is what people who are struggling need. Just someone to tell them they are struggling and then letting them get it off there chest

Deactivating the negative, enforcing the positive. That's really good

We all can just listen and “give a damn”. As a former therapist of 31 yrs. I found that this really helped a lot. Love is healing. ❤️

They need validation, which is what he gave them. "You sound determined" that was beautiful. He validated a postive thing for the guy. Too much negativity in the world. Way too much. People's words can kill. A lot of people know it but sadly, they don't care. The rest of us will have to pick up the slack. Validate someone everyday.

The power of just listening to and observing people

This makes me wanna cry. It’s this simple. Active listening and understanding (even an attempt) is all people need sometimes.

“Thanks for everything that you did” because sometimes just having someone listen to you is everything

This is the BEST way I've ever seen someone explain how they saved someones life. Mans genius and blessing. He just asked him the right questions to make him realize hes stressed out because hes determined to do whats right. NEVER MAKE A PERMINENT DECISION BECAUSE OF A TEMPERARY EMOTION. <3

I’m almost 30 years old and I’ve always felt alone in a world with 8 billion people because my mental health would always get mocked.

Feeling alone in a crowded world is the absolute WORST feeling and I vowed to make sure nobody EVER feels that way when they’re struggling. I know how it feels and nobody deserves it.

Sometimes all we need is someone to give us 1-2 minutes of active listening.

Restating how someone is feeling is one of the most powerful things not only in this situation but sales as well.

I find it's a 3 pronged thing, and I love how this guy addressed it. We are social creatures, we cannot do it all alone. Sometimes we need someone to lend credit to/understand the hardships we struggle with, remind us of the strengths we possess, and in that process, reveal to us other strengths we have that, with our very closed perspective, we were never able to see as strengths in the first place. A bathroom mirror and meditation can only get us so far.

Recognizing my emotions puts away any confusion and stress. Acknowledging how I felt cured my depression.

I’ve had people say this to me in my moments of weakness and you’re right, it helps. All we want is someone to listen and understand us

Earlier this year i was worked to the bone after being on call non stop for 5 years, a huge work project was coming to an end and i was struggling to organize and coordinate everything myself. I had been getting chest pains and high heart rate the weeks before but in may i finally had a break down, shaking uncontrollably, heart rate in the 180s just from sitting, stressed so bad i was sick to my stomach. I ultimately got 5 weeks off and the rest i needed but what helped the most was my sister rushing to my aid and moving into my driveway for 2 weeks and told me everyday that everything will work out the way its supposed to and just pulled the positives out and highlighted them every time i got a panic attack. It helps more than most people realize

The true definition of listening to a really struggling person.

It is overwhelming and admirable to know the existence of such elegant, eloquent and pristinely articulated individual that with the proper combination of words and voice can steer the course of the entire world!!! Why we don’t have such humans in government to enhance the quality of life in our beloved America??? Why???

EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU, please look after yourselves and others, we truly need one another on this planet. ive been battling for 21 years of my life. so many dark nights where i didnt want to wake up, accepted my loneliness and it CAN BE STOPPED. We all need a break and to cut ourselves some slack. Peace and Love to everyone.

We as humans are so hard on ourselves sometimes it takes someone else to remind you how far you’ve come
