I probably sound like Scotty Kilmer but here's some notes anyway :)
- This video is not sponsored by Lexus, that means nobody paid me, I bought the Lexus with my own money
- 2007 Lexus RX 350 AWD is this one
- Vehicle originally from PA which has yearly state inspection
- Any used car have inspected by trusted mechanic
- Jack up the car and look for frame damage or structural rust
- Cosmetic issues are okay, easy and inexpensive fix
- Test EVERYTHING before buying any used car
- Follow maintenance EXACTLY, don't cheat!
- Lexus vehicles should last 500,000 miles or more from my research
I haven't yet checked but if you need a dash cover then try this one -

I’d take a Lexus with 200k mile over a brand new GM, Ford, or Chrysler.

After shopping for almost a year a 2000 RX 300 with 250, 000 landed in my lap for $3, 200….. I’m the 3rd owner the previous owners followed the Lexus service schedule to a T !!
All documented on CarFax!!
The car drives like it’s almost brand new..
No GM or Ford in my garage !!
Thanks for the video🤙

I’ve got an LX570 200k + built in Japan 14 years ago. It is like a new vehicle’s drive train especially. They just take pride in their vehicles production. I even off road it regularly.

My 2008 Lexus IS250 has 130k miles on it. I thought that was a lot but I’ve seen another model like mine at 270k miles! So I still have a long ways to go on my car. Nice 👍🏽. I’m keeping my IS. I also like the fact that my car was built in Japan itself. Superb quality.

I just got a 2013 with 135k. Most of the cars I was looking at were newer with less miles, but this one is pretty immaculate and the previous owner had a 3 ring binder with all the service records. I'm very happy so far and hoping to get at least 300k out of it

I've had 2 Lexus and countless Toyota's, they're fantastic cars.

Our 2020 Ford Fusion was consuming coolant from new, if I had done 3 minutes of research I could have found the complaints online. Thankfully we were in a position to sell it for more than we paid for it due to the inflated market, ended up buying a 2009 RX350 with 81k miles... We are lucky to have gotten rid of it in time. Beautiful car, none of that matters when it was consuming coolant from new. I will not make the mistake of buying a new discount vehicle again. Used Lexus/Toyota products for me.

I have a ‘04 RX330 AWD with 43, 200 on it. It’s like new. Same issue with the dash but nothing major. Same color. The body integrity and paint look new.

Ok- I am here to stand up for American cars. To begin with, I don’t question the superstar status of Toyota or Honda- there is a reason why they are absolute legends.

Having said that, a Ford Panther (Crown Victoria, Marquis, and Town car) equipped with the 4.6 L V8 is a well armed opponent and it does hold its own and then some. Getting 200k, 300k, and more is the rules, not the exception. They have a magnificent smooth ride, gas mileage in the mid 20s (on regular) and when maintenance is required- it is cheap and easy to repair.

The biggest issue with the Panthers is that they have that “Grandpa” look about them- then again, a seasoned Camry is not a head turner either. And finally, if I’m doing a road trip from New York to Miami- a Panther is a far more comfortable ride.

Honorable mention to the 3800cc V6 from GM.

I’ve owned 4 Lexus cars at high mileage, and only one of them ever had issues that made it unable to get me where I needed.
