As someone who has used both in their life, I totally agree and that’s why I went over to Macs when I did. I’ve upgraded far fewer times, and ironically have spent less money on both operating systems and apps over a 12 year period.

I ended up getting about 70% of what I paid when I sold my 2 1/2 year old imac. Completely agree, the laptops tend to get less than the desktops. The 50-60% is great for a laptop though. My 3 year old windows laptop barely got 25% in comparison.

This was my first Mac after decades of using PCs. The main reason I bought it is for their security and I use it mainly for all my finances, but I'm not about to abandon my homebuilt high end PC that I use for occasional gaming, music, videos, etc.

Hello! I'm a Photoshop / Illustrator / InDesign and occasional Premiere Pro user. Currently I have at work an intel i7 7th gen CPU without a dedicated GPU, with 16 GB of ram with Windows 11 (well unsupported but works well) It would be ok to switch to a docking enabled scenario using an MacBook Air - base model (8 GB ram, 256 SSD)? I got a 2017 MacBook Pro and want to buy the new M1 one. BUT I have heard that a 14 inch MBP will be released later this year (hopefully march, but maybe second half of 21) and I'd rather get that one. Now if it doesn't get released in march, but later, then I would regret not getting an M1 one right now, because it's performance boost would allow me to play some games that I can't right now on my current one. Do you think the resale value of a M1 MacBook Pro or Air will be good in March? What will it be? :D pure speculation from you side of course, but an answer would give me confidence anyhow haha!
