It goes to show how our behaviour impacts these beautiful animals. We're connected, they listen... ❤

Girl you need more likes and comments. You are giving such usefull information and you riding a normal horse, on a normal saddle in normal clothes. Its so refreshing...

You are graciously teaching what I believe is, in Boomer Hippie Speak, "Connected Sharing Through Loving Good Vibes". When we learn an animal's language this method works as they truly are in tune with us.
Equine Helper, even your name tells us of your gentle nature as a teacher.💕🤗

I found this out on my own 2 years ago when I horse first came. I went on a walk and he spooked at something I was looking at. We walked back to the place and I didn’t look at it so he didn’t mind it! It’s a pretty cool thing to know

What i mostly do with my pony is i look straight ahead squeeze my legs to make him work harder so he is more focused and halfhault on my inside rein to make him focus on the connection between my leg and his neck

Someone told me this very thing a few months ago and it ABSOLUTELY works !! My horse gets nervous by bins on collection day and spooks when we pass. Now I look the other way as far as I can turn and we pass happily every time. Exactly as you said in your video.
It does take some concentrating on tbh, it's almost instinct to look the same way as your ride when he/she stares and tenses up.

My trainer (the best!) always told me 'doesn't matter' when a horse did something unexpected. Just.keep.riding. Your confidence knowing anything else 'doesn't matter' makes him confident. I so works. just act like all is good. 'doesn't matter'.

I noticed myself doing the same. I just wasn't sure if my horse would spook. So because I expected a reaction I got a reaction. I need to work on what you just said.

So true. Was riding in the desert one time and I was so worried about a rattlesnake being behind this big rock that when we went by it she jumped about 2 ft sideways as we went by. I almost fell off I was laughing so hard I had convinced her there was something there as well. That was the day I understood how much they are into our feelings.

I love your videos, super practical and I show-y. As for alertness and vigilance I was told RI LOOK so the horse knows you have his herd (have his back) and this is calming to them…. Hmmmm you’re saying the exact opposite.

But on the other hand, its good to acknowledge the horse & his opinion of whatever it is. I've walked my gelding up to things & let him investigate them. I'm saying, "Yes, i see that youre worried, but...here...its really nothing. See?" If its something we've passed a dozen times & he starts getting silly, then I ignore whatever-it-is & expect him to remember it & do the same...

In truth don’t look away !!!! Just breathe deeply and look at what is concerning 😮and be prepared to use positive control methods! Shoulder in is a positive control technique and keep your body rhythm!

I always tried to act as relaxed as possible but be ready enough for a bolt that I wouldn't fall (I often rode an ex racer or young green horses) but I'd always have to look bc my barn was out of town and we had predators usually the scariest thing you'd see is a skunk but I saw a bear once (from a safe spot luckily and on a very calm mare)

Another cute video. Nice riding boots. Do you ever wear rubber riding boots, or are those just for kids?
