I only take off my shoes if I have 2 empty seats, a blanket, a comfortable stuffed animal/pillow, and a window closed. If I don't have those things, I ain't sleeping or taking my shoes off in a plane.

Btw I always wear socks, I ain't touching my feet to some nasty seats

I spend a lot of money to get the window seat if I want that window open it's staying open. I don't care who doesn't like it. If they don't like it that bad then they should buy the window seat and keep it closed.

as someone with anxiety issue when travelling, doesn't matter if its car, bus or plane I sit by the window so I can see out of it and it keeps me a lot calmer.. sitting on the Isle of the bus for example on packed bus were i can't see where I'm going gives me too much anxiety and i start panicking. the last time I went on a plane it was the same.. I was on window seat going so I was fine i could could out and see what was happening and was calm. I was in the middle (which is bad enough for my anxiety witting between people I don't know) and not being able to see outside gave me panic attacks. so nope sorry if I'm flying I'm booking a window seat and keeping it open to stop my attacks.

Okay. So. First of all. I do NOT care if someone is trying to sleep. I booked the window seat for a damn reason. If you are trying to sleep, either book a window seat or use a damn sleeping mask. Second of all, you are allowed to take your shoes off whenever, as long as you at least keep your socks on and know that you don't have the sweat stink. Personally, I only take my shoes off when I'm sitting in a row with people I know. So please, if you keep your window open or take your shoes off, please don't think you're a dick. You're doing what's best for YOUR comfort.
