Unreal and Unity the both has "Un" so if we remove it, they become "real" and " ity" then you mix them together it's turn to "REALITY "

I used UE 4 for my graduation project
its amazing and took me only 4 days to make a demo game
once I mastered 2D animation... I will go back to 3D and UE4

Very insightful video! This year I had to use both engines for my projects, and I would say Unreal is better for serious game development, while Unity is better for hobby / indie development.
...Overall, though, my choice is Unreal. Heres why:
- Company knows what they want to do with their engine, whilst Unity is often an amalgamation of unfinished deprecated experimental packages & branches
- Better documented API (Unity has a SERIOUS API problem with missing info and deprecated info)
- Cleaner and better user interface
- A lot more flexibility with materials easily
- Blueprint system > Prefab system
- Ability to combine Visual Scripting with Blueprints (Can make calls to C++ functions using Blueprints, which is super awesome design wise)
- Actual Icons in the hierarchy versus Unity having just boxes
- Don't have to pay for a dark mode (which is more of a testament about the companies)
- Better licensing deal (since Unreal 5 announcment)
- industry standard

Another point that you make in the video I disagree with: Bigger communities from my experience has made Unity MORE frustrating. This is a big problem with Unity for me: Unity has so many deprecated functions and completely undocumented packages, without ANY API, that the ONLY way to learn about them is trying to scour through people in the community with experience. This leads to mixed information on best practices, straight up mis-information on how a mechanic works, and a lot of bad advice.

My best example of this is how a GUI Mask works in Unity: Nowhere on the documentation site do they mention the VERY specific aspect of a GUI mask that the alpha has to be between TWO AND THREE to actually work. The only way I was able to find this out was from one Unity forum post back in 2012, which is just always the case with figuring out how Unity works.
Also lastly, at 5:54 thats not the Unity logo ;)

I've been designing a game on paper for quite some time, and I thought that it was time to move onto coding. Because I am new, I think it would be best to start at Unity. This video really helped me a lot, thanks!

Just 1 correction 5:57 shows unreal logo when talk about unit. It confuses me at first view

UE4 or Unity ?
Guys it all depends on the developer itself.
Bad developers can make shit games on UE4 same goes for Unity.

This is what I got from this video.

1. Unity for foundation game design & programming. Most beginners should probably start with Unity first.

2. Unreal 4 is for advance developers who need more POWER and DETAIL for there games. It make sense because C++ is more of a powerful language than C#. It will be tough for beginners.

3. You can make GREAT games with both game engines. Remember creating games is more of art form than an engineering task.

Fun fact - kerbal space program 2, free fire, subnautica, assassin's creed identity, all are made with unity

I would say this Asome Tuts Unity is better for ease of use since the UI is always the same, while Unreal is with its recent free Textures & so on is, in all honesty, the best Option for Tripple A realistic Look. I would say when it comes to AAA realistic Graphics first FPS, TFPS, Unreal everything Else when it comes to being more stylized Unity

I ended up learning Unity / C# purely because Unreal kept crashing on my Mac. Unreal is much more stable on PC, but on Mac seems to be VERY unstable. I got so fed up of with it I just started from scratch and went to Unity. I'm very happy with it, and yes, it doesn't have the lighting/GFX capability of Unreal, but it certainly serves my needs.

I feel that UE4 has better integrated features. Complex yes, but its going to be fun to use once you get the hang of those.

I got confused at 5:58 : “Unity is completely free but the logo is from Unreal???

Could you please do a comparison between making Android Games with Unreal vs Unity. Everyone that uses Unity claims this as the one thing that makes it better then Unreal but honestly I've seen no proof of this. You can make Android and IOS games in both and I am pretty sure I remember having played games on the Android built with the Unreal Engine back when I was out of town for several months and had started playing Android games a lot.

If Unreal has the official and stable C# support than I'd go with Unreal but for now I'm using Unity. Sometimes I think to switch completely to the Godot Engine but It has a lot of missing features and full of bugs that wait to fix.

Coming from a webdevelopment background, I've spent about 2 months trying to learn blueprints, and that didn't make any sense for me.
I searched for cpp codes to unreal, and nothing was very helpful.
So I decided to give unity a try, and for me it was way easier to understand, and made much more sense.
Unity is the way to go for new and indie developers... Not a doubt...

Good video. Very informative. One thing I wish you had done though, was to label the footage according to which engine it was from.

Cmon man the engines r both very good and they have features the other one doesnt have. Better inform yourself somewhere else and then choose your engine
