SCAMP interventions for BFRBs! 👀🧠

➡️ Sensory (sensations):
Facial scrub, lotion, anti-itch cream, massage brush, massage, manicure

➡️ Cognitive (thoughts):
Cognitive restructuring, addressing negative thought patterns, compassionate self-talk

➡️ Affective (emotions):
Exercise, pleasurable activities, progressive muscle relaxation, deep breathing

➡️ Motor (behavior):
Wear gloves, hats, fingertip covers, band-aids, hats, headbands, clothing that covers the area; cut fingernails short; stay active; avoid triggering positions/postures; competing response training

➡️ Place (environment):
Remove/cover mirrors; move to another room; put up signs as a reminder to use strategies; eliminate tools that aid in the BFRB (e.g. tweezers); aim to prevent being alone in triggering areas/places
