For me it’s the literal fact a needle has entered my body, it is not just the pain but the actual experience. Knowing a needle has entered a vein and is in my bloodstream makes me cringe physically.

I cured my fear of needles almost 3 years ago when I was in the hospital for a couple weeks. Talk about exposure therapy lol

Something I’ve always told myself is: It’s just the anxiety you’re feeling, it doesn’t hurt more than a pinch you get from your pesky siblings, and when it’s over you’re gonna feel great and protected.

As someone who has had needle phobia for 30+ years and who has tried many treatments without success, this video is probably the most useful practical advice I have come across! I’ll definitely try this, but I think watching people have injections is probably too much and I might have to start with something easier. Can I ask whether your suggestions are a standard form of treatment or your own ideas? Also do you have experience of people who have tried it and cured their fears?
