I have a Pixelbook. It used to have a dark startup screen (I guess it's called the splash screen-- the screen where you type in your password). After the latest update, the screen is now white, but it turns dark again around 8pm it looks like. So, apparently, this is indeed part of the update? Also, after the update, it takes noticeably longer to go to the start screen after I enter my password. I sure hope this changes with the new update and that the new update comes soon.
