If want to get it even faster get a piston next to the lectren and a lever and just flick it when it's not the book you want

Doesn’t work for me in my village I place it down and a random villager becomes the librarian not the one I wanted and then when I break it they stay a librarian

I dont know why but sometimes when i break lectern the profession stays with them forever and only way to get rid of it is to kill them this happened to me 2 times and i think its a bug or game trying to stop me from getting good enchants on purpose.
