WHEN WORKING WITH LYE, ALWAYS ADD LYE TO WATER NOT WATER TO LYE. ALSO NEVER JUST DUMP THE LYE IN, ADD IT IN A LITTLE AT A TIME CUZ IT WILL SPIT. AND IF U R NEW TO THIS, WEAR GOGGLES UNTILL U GET USED TO IT.

This soap is absolutely fantastic!! I love the simple recipe, y’all don’t complicate anything and it’s very beginner friendly! One thing though- I’m a chemist and worked in an organic chemistry lab for a long time. Please don’t add vinegar to sodium hydroxide on your skin! The protocol is to Rinse it under the tap for 15 minutes and go seek professional care if necessary. The acidity and alkaline naoh do cancel each other out so it makes sense in theory, but having that reaction occur on your skin will make things worse!

for this recipe put in a teaspoon of castor oil, this will make your soap have a lot more suds. different fats give you different results.0 I also add in a teaspoon of activated carbon and yeah even though its black it really puts dirt and grime off of you.

Thanks for the simple instructions. I haven’t made soap in 10 years so I kinda forgot how. One thing I used to like to use for a mold was a pringles can. It made pretty round soaps. I’m excited to get back into soap making.

I have made soap with coconut oil, vegetable oil and lard. I add essential oils to mine. Lavender, peppermint, thieves. I enjoy making soap. Great work!

Was raised on homemade soap and laundry detergent for years. Saved the family a lot of money in the process

My brother and I have been making soap just over a year and your video is the one I have always gone back to, it's easy to follow and to the point and I watch it everytime I make a new batch just to make sure I'm doing it right

Everyone should keep in mind that you should always add lye to water never in the reverse order.

Also, do not use tap water. Instead, use purified if available or distilled. Purified is recommended.

I love Coconut oil soap. It's my favorite recipe out of all my soaps. it leaves behind such a clean scent. I don't melt the oil. A heat transfer method works fine. After dissolving the lye water solution (I mix under my stove vent on high and stand back a little to avoid the fumes), it can go straight into the oil and slowly whisk until oil melted from the hot lye water solution. Then you can use the immersion blender. Give it a try. You will save a LOT of time. Any plastic with the #5 in the recycling ♻️ symbol will work. Also your trace is at almost a heavy trace. You can pour right after emulsion at a light trace. I agree on cutting soon after removing from Mould.
