In this video, you learn what block cipher modes of operation are. With these modes, a block cipher can be used to encrypt more plaintext than the cipher's block length. The modes that we discuss are: electronic code book (ECB), cipher block chaining (CBC), cipher feedback (CFB), and output feedback (OFB). We also discuss, why ECB should never be used and we discuss an attack on CBC.
