If you see the Liquid Detected In Lightning Connector message on your iPhone, unplug it from its charger and let it dry out for several hours. Avoid plugging anything into the Lightning port while it's drying out, as the liquid present inside could permanently damage your iPhone's hardware.

❗️We do not recommend tapping Emergency Override, even if your iPhone gives you the option.

Blowing air into the port should’ve been the number one “do not “ mentioned in the list !

Yeah! I have seen countless videos and you were the only one who said switch cables and it worked. Thanks.

I just pulled on one end of a q-tip to swipe inside my charging port and it worked (my phone did not fall inside water, all chargers were fine, i-phone just sensitive).

What worked really well for me was using those silica moisture absorbent bags inside a ziploc bag. I didn’t keep track of time but left it there for an hour and worked fine with me.

Hi there, If it’s just a problem with the charger can I use the old one & use emergency override?

How do we get the water to dry out of the cable? I plugged my phone into a different cable and it started charging, which means the water is in the cable instead

This was so helpful, thank you! I put my phone in the window for about 15 minutes and tried charging with a different charger and it worked. Thanks for calming me down. 😂

This happened to me when my iPhone 12 was almost brand new, and I had no idea why as there had been no obvious exposure to water anywhere with the phone. So I followed the suggestions like you mention in the video. I think Applecare also suggested I set the iPhone near a open window with a breeze and I guess that aids in any drying out. It took several hours for the phone to be okay again.

Hi mate, I’m using a few weeks old brand new iPhone 12 charger. That stays in a dry place. And now when I plug it in it says liquid detected and doesn’t work. I then used an old cable and it works so can’t be the phone. Do you know how I could revive this 2 week old genuine cable that came with the device please?
