How to Fix Liquid Detected In iPhone Connector Bug (Charging Not Available)

Watch this video and see how you can charge your iPhone after you're prompted by the Charging Not Available popup: Liquid has been detected in the Lightning Connector.

Many iPhone users are prompted with this dialog box although the iPhone hasn't been anywhere near a water source. The warning is triggered when the Lightning cable is plugged in the Lightning connector.

The Liquid Detected warning comes with two options: Dismiss and Emergency Override. The first one allows you to close the popup and, supposedly allow you to disconnect the Lightning cable and allow the device to try, for up to 'several hours'. Obviously this isn't the case.

Emergency Override has the role to ignore the warning and force the charing process. However, users report that charging won't start when the Override option is used.

This annoying bug has surfaced in iOS 14 and is ongoing in iOS 15. Watch this video and find out the most common workarounds that will allow you to charge your iPhone when the false Liquid detected warning is triggered.

One of them involves, using only genuine Apple power adapters. If you don't own one you can quickly grab one from Amazon:

Yoooo restarting the iPhone worked!! Thanks boss. Make sure you do it exactly as the video. Leave it plugged in, reset, then unplug it when the apple icon pops back up. Unlock then plug back in to charge

I had my phone fall in the toilet, anyway when i dried it and wanted to charge this message popped up, what i did was place a tissue and gently get the charger in and repeated the process until there was no more water. Worked for me 👍🏼

My iPhone 14 pro refused to turn on for over 12 hours. I was frustrated until I came across your video! The force restart worked for…vol up(press only once), vol down (press only once) then hold the restart button until the Apple logo appears. Thanks lot.

I had to restart, then realize that my charger that I’ve had since 2 phones ago my new puppy chewed the smallest break so I had to find another one which looked perfect then it wasn’t working then I finally found a cord that worked.

Recommend if you actually do have liquid in your phone take a small bit of cotton and poke it into your port gently with a toothpick leaving for 10-30 seconds then removing. Repeat if you can still see liquid. That has saved me before and can be more beneficial than just letting your phone dry out and essentially consume some of the water & all the bacteria while you can potentially remove some easily before anything damages your phone.

My iphone 11 has not been able to charge properly for 2 weeks because it detected that there was still water inside, I was able to press the override to restart the one in the video, but after a day it appears that there is already detected liquid within. Why is that? Can't he affect my iphone 11?

The notification came up on my brand new iPhone 13 Pro and i got so scared! 🙄😬
I was almost out of battery aswell! 4%

Seemed like it was a bug since i did the force turn off technique and it worked after that! :)

Thanks for your help!
