Some advice, do the thing for a few minutes, do it in intervals so you don’t hurt your wrist, if after doing it after a few minutes (like over 5 minutes on and off), the warning keeps popping up, restart the phone, wait a minute, plug the phone BEFORE RESTARTING it, so the phone starts by itself, that should do the trick.

It took me a minute for it to work. I had already been blowing air into my charging port so most of the water was already out but it still said there was water when I charged it. I banged my phone aggressively on my hand and blanket for about a minute went to charge and it’s perfectly fine. Thank you!
