The free Blender addon Batex for exporting FBX models has a new feature now: It is possible to export a mesh that has several materials assigned with one material only.

With this feature you can keep the materials assigned in Blender but still have just one material in your texturing application like Substance Painter and in your game engine like Unity or Unreal Engine 4. I show the workflow in this tutorial for Blender, Substance Painter and Unreal Engine (UE4)

This is just perfect !, making objects for FSX, P3D or X-Plane follows the same principle: one material per object. This tool comes very handy!, thank you.

Thank you very much! I just installed your add-on for Blender2.9, and it works perfectly. I added the .fbx file to the Unity game engine, and all the textures are accurate and it performs as expected. I am really impressed, and am VERY appreciative of your helpful add-on. I had so many different textures in my 3d-model, I didn't know where to begin with Blender, thinking I needed a different strategy. Subscribed!

This can be useful for Quixel Mixer too since it only imports FBX with one material for now!
Just as an idea... It would be cool if it generated an ID Map as an option or another button! :D
Think it's doable... While going through the materials, replace each with an Emissive Shader with some colors, and then bake the Emissive texture with Cycles. :D
Or automated vertex paint and bake a vertex color material?
Don't know... the possibilities just popped up in my head.

Hay Jayanam - Thanks for the exporter! Was on the look out for something like this.

Question for you though. I'd lke to set the pivot of objects to the floor (Min Z) bounding box rather then setting it to the center of the object. Is there anyway to do this in a batch way in blender? Current way seems very slow and manual.

Am I correct in understanding that it makes no attempt to change the UV map? So you'd have to make sure to unwrap all the parts as if they're the same texture in Blender.

hi~ I use Blender to export the model to UE4 for work. The model needs to export collisions, but this plug-in does not support the export of collisions. The model name prefix is added with _UBX or _UCX, or multiple models can be selected at the same time and exported as one FBX files are also available.

Hay Jay! I've just downloaded this and had a go. The batch exporter is exactly what I'm looking for but I'm having an issue with sale. The assets are 100x to big in my unity project + maya. Is there a good way to set the scale to 0.01 on Export as you can with the standard FBX exporter?

Hello! In simple scene everything is ok, but when I try to export objects from scene, where I have many objects, I have an error. Do I need to apply or do first?
