I was a brand new “baby” Christian and of course listening to the local Christian radio station when I heard a catchy song by a then currently popular female CCM artist. The tune was memorable but while listening to the actual words I distinctly remember thinking to myself that it didn’t seem theologically correct. That was nearly 30 years ago. While I have continually studied the Word and grown spirituality more mature and knowledgeable, I think the music has regressed in that same time period. I am deeply saddened and concerned that one of my favorite groups has joined with the ecumenical movement. And I’m also saddened that many of my brethren are upset with me when I point out the open compromise and failure to stand on God’s holy Word of many CCM artists who have been granted a nationwide and indeed, worldwide stage. When given the opportunity to boldly stand for truth and defend the faith, they refuse to do so. Is there no fear of God in them?

Why I stopped listening to music altogether. I will do hymns. I don't watch TV, or anything not based on bible.

Praise God that Matt Redman has felt the Holy Spirit on this subject. I think many of these Christian singers were not spiritually ready for any kind of fame. The devil gets us that way.

I haven't followed Matt Redman for a while, but I remember when he took worship songs out of his church for a while because, people were making it about their enjoyment rather than about worshipping God. I barely listen to music because, it's become more like Elevation, Bethel, etc.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Those sounds were so spot on and so true. Sometimes, its really cringe watching them sing out those sounds. It is truly born of false doctrine and the more you hear it, the more you just want to be further and further away from such company.

The "church" has been so off base for a long time, of course worship is off base.
I agree with you. I think people have taken the "saved", "redeemed", "loved" and so on so deep inside they have forgotten God's justice, His judgement and vengeance. You never hear "Christians" telling of the day Jesus went into the court of the Temple and turned tables and beat animals and people with a whip for desecrating the temple grounds.
People need to remember that God may be patient, but He will judge us. And being a "Christian" doesn't exempt us from giving an account for what we did for His Kingdom.
There is just no "fear of God" in the church, how could there be in the world?
Repent before Jesus' return... Get the world out of your life.
