I cruise on the all-inclusive ships anyway, but I do try to avoid adding on the extras, except for extra tips — once I get to know the wonderful staff, I can’s resist tipping EXTRA and I always pack extra currency for that.

Beverage package and specialty dining! You're on vacation enjoy it! Those memories/experiences are priceless

We always buy the specialty dining package. This makes our cruise extra special

I only recommend the specialty dining if you’re doing it for a special occasion (ie birthday) or if you get on board credit. The main dining room never fails to provide, and even if it did, there’s the buffet and other options

ALWAYS !!!! bring a .88cent pack of dramamine from Walmart just in case.. my 2nd ship left late they put the boat in max speed over night to make up time and half the ship was sick the next morning.. I gave a dramamine to a GREEN woman with her head down 2 days later we crossed paths again she was so grateful I was glad I saved her vacation

Always buy travel insurance and we do at least one specialty dinner

Been on many, many cruises, these aren’t sneaky things, these are just common sense.

As I am older now, I get travel insurance. I do enjoy the drink package and normally get 1 or 2 specialty dining for a 5 -7 day cruise

I am the type of person that will not spend a penny more than I need to for a cruise because I can still have fun without any extras. I also don’t buy any travel insurance because the chances of me actually needing insurance are very small that for me at least travel insurance is a rip off. I know for some people travel insurance isn’t a rip off but for me it is a complete waste of money to buy travel insurance.

Here’s one more tip if you’re not on this list, you’re going to feel like you are locked in a Walmart with all the customers for five days.

Cruises are only for the following:

The newlywed
The overfed
The nearly dead

If that’s not you, a cruise is hell on earth

I wouldn't do *just* a drink package, but Princess has a deal with "Plus" or "Premier" that *includes* a drink package, and an internet package, and pre-paid crew gratuities, the three of which together I think is worth it. Oh, and you also get some free exercise lessons, that I'll probably pass on.
