I learned the hard way, on my first cruise 20 years ago, to keep an eye on your tabs bc everything adds up quick! And from that, I learned to pay as much as possible up front before the cruise so that you don’t have to worry so much about money/spending.

I was really impressed to hear that my cruise was offering free airfare. Then I heard about all of the.... crap.... you could be put through when they are in charge of your flight. I told them, "No, thank you."

I only use the ships texting service. Don't need Internet. Absolutely right about arriving the day before.

Advice to arrive the day before is spot on. I would also recommend arriving two days early if you have to catch a ship in Africa, India, Middle East, Australia, etc., if you live in the US.

Use cruise air AND fly in the day before! Prices have always been the same for me, and it works on your return flight as well. I had flight cancelled on disembarkation, had the desk call the flight service...boom on a plane within an hour or two of my original flight!

Staying in a concierge suite that includes unlimited wifi doesn’t mean the wifi will be faster or reliable. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Take the time to find out whether the cruise line that you’re on, allows you to bring alcohol. There’s some that allow a bottle or two, or some little out as many bottles as you want, and there’s some that allow you to take anything that you like beer, wine and spirits anything at all. Do your research

Agree whole-heartedly to arrive at the embarkation location the day before! Never have ever had the least bit of anxiety getting on a cruise with that approach!

If you need wifi, but the ships connection is slow, ask a crew member or follow them at a port. They know where to get faster wifi access . I only need it once a day, but I need to upload.

What I learned the hard way? I get motion sickness-
We went on a 5 day cruise and I could only spend about three hours out of bed each day-

Question what happens I leave you. They don't follow-up to make sure you're not kidnapped or killed. Or something bad happened to you? I just leave you in a different country that's weird
