I like that, upon replaying, you realize that Sif is not trying to kill Atreus - she's trying to turn Thor against Odin but Thor takes it out on Atreus.

Thor nearly caught himself and his whole bloodline the Poseidon Special

that sword just saved an entire pantheon from complete and utter annihilation.

Man, Thor and the all nine realms really dodged a bullet by failing to kill Atreus.

It’s brilliant how they make it seem like Sif is manipulating Thor against Atreus but the entire time her primary focus is against Odin.

sif is actualy not convincing thor to attack atreus here..shes actually just convincing her husband to turn against his father..but of course thor still cant bring himself to do that so he just shrug it off and vent all of his frustration to atreus instead..just from what he said alone, "you turn my father against me"clearly shows he still side with his father despite what siff just said to him

Everything negative they say about Odin is completely true and still not descriptively enough, but he is right when telling off Sif. Kratos killed Heimdall, Atreus had nothing to do with it, Thrud is old enough to screw up on her own, and Thor relapsed. It’s just like he said.

I love how when Odin says "You two, a word." The Valkeries both look like they got called to the principle's office for being late to class

I just noticed that the magic sword blocked Thor's attack.

Sif actually saved the day. Because she arrived, Odin didn't immediately take the mask, and Thor attacked Atreus, causing him to use that stone to escape with the mask.

Odin takes his eye off the prize for two minutes and that's all it takes for his whole plot to unravel.

The sword didn't stop Thor's Mjolnir; it stopped Kratos's Special Greek Pantheon therapy.

The expression on Sif's face after Odin dismisses her is legit one of the most terrifying expressions in God of War as a franchise. It isn't over the top, bombastic, or screaming emotion. That's "the limit has been reached" expression.

Thor stays loyal to Odin even after its clear he don't care about him basically murders one of his own sons but passes that grudge to Atreus and suddenly his life is all about his kids. The man is as easily manipulated by his wife as he is Odin hell I bet a loud wind could convince this guy to do its bidding.

Notice Odin said "your husband", and not "my son". Dude doesn't care about Thor at all. . .

Damn Atreus and Thor were just getting along

I just realized Odin's scream of fear when Thor went to kill Atreus was genuine, he couldn't have any idea Sindri gave Atreus an exit. This means either 1 of 2 things.
1. He actually likes Loki, and perhaps see's something in himself in him. This is a possibility as Loki is meant to be the god of Mischief, something Odin seems to make a lot of in GoW.
2. He is deathly afraid of what Kratos would become if Loki were to die.

What makes it especially sad is when Thor says "Gotcha" and "Wasn't about to lose that mask" he doesn't sound _as_ aggressive as he normally does. It's almost like he's finally beginning to realize that Atreus isn't someone out to destroy his family or his home, he's just a kid who's had to make tough choices and sometimes made the wrong one.
And then Odin shows up and completely ignores him, and he returns to his hateful mindset because Odin reinforces Thor's idea that Atreus is there to divide them. Then, when Sif tries to talk to Thor and show him what Odin is, Thor directs it at Atreus instead. Odin is such a poisonous figurehead that by just _showing up_ he fundamentally messed with the people around him and their responses.
