What did you think of this sequence in God of War Ragnarök?

I like how it's a reworking of the mural. But instead of holding his dead father Kratos, he's holding dead Odin

It being Sindri who actually Killed Odin by crushing his souls made me happy.
Killing Brok was Odins biggest mistake

I liked how Odin’s entire reason for everything he’s done is to know what happens. I think it fits really good with his character, especially since in the original mythology Odin sacrifices his own eye and hangs from the world tree to gain knowledge of magic. Along with other things he’s done in the original mythology and here

The heart break in Atreus's voice when Odin said he'll never stop this even with the mask being taken by the closed rift

I love how Odin doesn't take accountability for anything. Reminds me of a teacher I had who would respond in a similar manner whenever he was wrong and fucked up.

Sindri looks back at them probably thinking “what the hell are you starring at?”.

0:49 I love the little details, Atreus reaching for the knife then changing his mind.

One subtle detail about Odin's last words; he could have pretended to agree with Atreus. But he didn't... he admitted he was too obsessed to stop. It's like he realized everything he did, and said he wouldn't stop to intentionally have Atreus end things, so that he could free him of his insanity.

I never noticed when Atreus yells “There’s always a choice”, his hand hovers above the knife. He was ready to kill Odin with it, but instead decided to keep trying to talk sense to him. And lastly pulled out the orb instead of the knife when that didn’t work.

Zeus: Oh, you're God. Just not a super one
Odin: Yeah? What's the difference?
Zeus: *_PRESENTATION!!!_* [Lightning show starting]

“you always have a choice” atreus quoting tyr (odin) from near the beginning of the game. choice was such a huge theme is this game. do what is necessary not written, choosing to be different and form your own path. although atreus was obsessed with prophecy almost as much as odin was, he chose to make his own decisions against fate

Freya had those moments where you want something and really really want it until you actually have it

The definitiveness of him saying he will never stop his evil is scary. The fact that he is finally acknowledging he’s evil and saying how he will never stop as long as he is alive.

1:30 the moment you realize that it was NOT Kratos who died in Atreus' arms

Translated from Icelandic (the language that the game designers substituted for Old Norse), Atreus' prayer is "Fall asleep from this. Fall asleep from here. Fall asleep. Fall asleep. Fall asleep." - at least, according to Google Translate.

“I don’t need this to make me whole”

Sindri: you cannot fathom the immensity of fuck I do not give

Odin: "Only I know how this all turns out!"
Sindri: "Turns out you're dead!"

At least Sindri took his revenge, and with his brother's hammer.
He shall remain broken and incomplete, like Brok, but at least he wasn't robbed of his vengeance like many others.
