Something I noticed on my second playthrough is that when Odin restores the memories of the Einheriar, their eyes turn the same shade of magenta-red as Heimdall’s. I think whatever that spell is inspires complete devotion to the caster, that’s how he controls his army, and that’s how he controls Heimdall

I feel like their relationship goes deeper than that, Odin quite literally has Heimdall in his grib and Heimdall only has Odin, i feel like Heimdall knows odin only uses him as a tool and can see it but since odin is the only person he has then he cannot go against him and it gets worst when you consider his fight with kratos, i feel like Heimdall refused to "let it go" not because he didn't want kratos to decide his fate or at least not just that, i feel like he saw how much kratos cared about his son and got jealous because he doesnt have that with his father and it made him not care anymore about life and death and if i am correct then by God the writers have done a fantastic job

I picked up on this on my playthrough and I can easily say that Odin is immune to Heimdall’s mind reading/intention reading. It’d be cool if Heimdall realized this and had a redemption arc and rebelled against Odin which would make a lot more sense than Thor rebelling against Odin

In a official book of cosplay(?), Sindri states that Heindall's bifrost eyes are actually in a different collor to all he ever seen in the Yggdrasil. That may indicate Odin cursed Heindall.

No it really makes me think. Because in the end when Atreus could’ve seen all knowledge, Odin genuinely put everything down and all the fighting, with enemies intending to kill them. Just to see what was in there.

Heimdall has clouded his paradigms of odin out of sheer cope and absolute denial, the one thing that truly seperates the nordic gods from all the rest is how they're semimortal beings with talents perceived to be that of godly status but at the end of the day they're still imperfect and the mythology perfectly illustrates this.

I personally love that when Odin scolds him and turns to look at Heimdall he steps over to his blind side so that Odin has to turn farther so his gaze did meet his immediately. Or it might've been he tried to step into his eyesight using reading Odin's mind but incorrectly moved due to Odin being unpredictable
