here are some tips if you just started your period:
- if you wear pads, wear an extra pair of tight shorts underneath your regular pants (especially when you exercise) so it doesn’t feel so uncomfortable and makes it more secure instead of shuffling around
- don’t eat cold stuff like ice cream, it will make your cramps worse.
- hydrate a lot! :)
- use thicker pads at night so they don’t make a mess in your bed
- wear darker clothes and long jackets/skirts if you’re worried about it showing

i wrote some tips too :)

- things like a warm pillow can help to numb the pain, but it doesnt for me. for me warm drinks like tea help better. every body is different so try what works for you
- cramps usually doesnt stay the whole period. for me they stay about 3 days, and they get better, so dont worry!
- be sure to have a variety of pads in different sizes for different stages of your period
- when your period ended, continue wearing small pads for like 2 days, there can always be a little rest
- when traveling, always pack a period kit, you can never know
- dont worry when your period comes late, instead wonder what the reason could be. i had my period dont come for over 5 months and when i started getting a normal sleep cycle again, i got it again
- get pads with wings. trust me the blood goes everywhere and pads with wings are my LIFESAVER
- always have good hygiene and clean the area with wet wipes or warm water after you change a pad
- dont let your period stop you, i went to an amusement park once with super bad cramps and still had fun. but if you are more comfortable lying in bed when you have bad cramps, thats totally okay, dont force yourself to anything
- sleep. it helps and its less time with cramps
- as someone who doesnt have a great relationship with my mom, talking about it with my friends always made me feel better about it
- have a period calendar so you know when your period comes
- educate yourself about periods, it makes you feel better and you gain more knowledge about your body
- get your vitamins, eat fruit, drink water, stay healthy

I also have some advice as a person with bad periods.
-it might get very overwhelming and everything can upset you, its alright hun
-bad thoughts can exist and some doctors say its normal before period, dont overthink it too much
-try to not attack people, i know you might feel like beating up upsetting people but don't..
-you might feel like having a fever or even flu symptoms before your period, its been happening for months personally and doctor said its alright. Don't worry, you are not ill, just unlucky like me :) welcome to the club
-before and on period scents and tastes might make you nauseous, even scents you love...and some you don't might make it even worse but you can also start to like something you didn't before (for me its salt and vinegar chips which i used to hate but now i love)
-as the video said, don't drink any alcohol, it makes pain and nausea worse
-you might have back pain before period and on period, its completely normal
-make sure to eat good meals, you might feel dizzy sometimes so hydrate and eat
-pain can be little to severe, pain can get to the point of you feeling like you will throw up or faint (personal experience) have always pain killers with you and make sure to be laying down if you feel like fainting. Don't panic! Tell your doctor about it, in some cases there are medical issues with severe pain but there are cases like me which there's nothing wrong medically
-craving only chocolate is a myth. You can crave a different thing or more each and every month just like pregnancy. For me right now it's cinnamon cookies and gyros!
-most importantly, period is nothing to be ashamed of, its normal and you don't have to hide it. Don't accept and sexist and offensive comments about it, people can be rude and bad.
-lastly, CAKE MAKES EVERYTHING BETTER. even if you don't crave it :)

I got my period when i was performing in my concert..i was wearing a mini skirt..i told my boss (female) during a break so she gave me a pad and a longer skirt and she said if i get cramps i can always dance slowly for maybe stop and just sing.

Mint tea is also helpful! (Dried mints in tea) also usually the regular ages for periods to start are 10-13 usually when it happens later it could be a heath problem since this generation is developing faster than the last in the 1900’s usually people would get their period or go through puberty at 16-19ish but now it’s way younger since this generation is obviously developing faster. Also if somone starts a period 14-15+ it may not always be a health problem but usually it is.

For those having bad cramps, I personally have terrible episodes of cramps to the extent that even breathing hurts as hell. Take one glass of water, add one and a half tea spoon of sugar, (one tea spoon if it's too sweet, but not less), and a pinch of salt. Stir well and drink it all slowly. It works miracles. Within minutes the cramp goes away. Please give it a try it saves me every time

I actually enjoy my period time. it's natural and it's not that bad having cramps, mood swings, and etc....cause I feel loved and cared a bit more on that time. I give myself some treats, make some food according to my cravings . It makes me feel strong!! :-)

Here’s a tip in case you don’t have anyone to check for stains: always carry around a sweater/hoodie, if you tie it around your waist it can hide small spots! (It doesn’t cover the front tho)

Awesome advice! Although rinsing a blood stain with warm or hot water is the worst thing to do since it sets the stain! Instead, try rinsing with cold water and soap if the blood is fresh. If the blood has set then let in soak in a bucket of cold water overnight or until the stain is gone, wash it after and the clothes will be as good as new! Hope this helps anyone!❤❤

Another tip: put a towel down underneath you when you sleep (preferably red) so that if you do leak, it doesn't get onto your bedsheets!
