sometimes when it’s a bit loud ( like not even super loud- ) i have to cover my ears in order to think properly. if i don’t i just can’t think of anything. i can think about 3 words and then they are poof gone from my head..

This sums it up pretty well, and then people giving you extra input bucause of it makes it worse

Unfortunately I am not around people who really care or believe that this is a real thing so anytime I ask for quiet because I’m over stimulated I get people being louder thinking I’m joking and then they wonder why I loose my shit.

I thought adhd meant being under stimulated most of the time! I didn’t know you could also get overstimulated really easily. I have all the symptoms really intensely, but I wasn’t sure if I had adhd because I will get over and under stimulated a lot!

Not only adhd, but bipolar disorder, autism, and other mood disorders also cause hypersensitivity

So that’s why I would tear up whenever I was in a school hallway in 6th grade

It's not like it get's turned up too loud from time to time. It's always turned up. And that can lead to you not having space for more.

Autism is similar, but for me i can never not feel/smell/hear/taste/see things.
Examples
-I am always feeling my organs 24/7.
-I feel food going down my throat.
-I cant focus on one sound
-I always notice the tast of saliva (sometimes i brush my teeth 7+ times to make it go away but it doesn't)
-I cant eat mushy food (yogurt, sauce, pudding, ect) because the feeling make me panic

And there is so much much more, this is all happening at once all of the time with no stop, and people still try to make me overload by grabbing me and yelling at me for fun

(Sorry to vent, don't know where that came from)

Idk if it's the same but this is the reason why I only have YouTube and Twitter left. Everything else is just too much for me. Especially tiktok 😂

You forgot smell and taste. All 5 senses for me have experienced phenomenal sensory overload. And I only noticed that my taste and smell were also impacted by ADHD when I lost them to Covid for a week. It was one of the best (and worst) side effects of Covid. I was able to do the dishes (with rubber gloves) without a problem, I was able to eat without a problem, I was able to clean the bathroom (with rubber gloves 😂) without a problem… These are all things that get in the way of my daily living activities due to my extremely sensitive smell and taste.

Can sensory overload give you headaches or migraines?

I like loud stuff and lots of sound and colors but I don’t like it when people do things they know will make me start crying and hyperventilating then tell me to stop crying because it’s not a big deal we’ll laughing

as someone with sensory issues which are getting extremely bad very quickly by the day, I'm gonna see if Ishould ask my mom to see if I might have ADHD or a sensory disorder. btw if anyone could perhaps help with this info:

I'm extremely sensitive to even very small bumps, mostly when someone hugs me, or touches me arm for a couple seconds, it feel really bad, iykyk the feeling. idk if this might help anyone out here understand it more and help me better to describe what it may be.
