USCIS K1 Fiance Visa Processing times update 09-09-23

Got our NOA-1 on 6/17/22
Got our NOA-2 on 7/5/23
Still waiting for our NVC Welcome Letter so we can file for the CENOMAR and Police Certificates, then do the DS-160 and get the interview date once we get the “ready” status. Nothing in my 60+ years of life has tested my patience this much, Lol

Another update particularly for those of you who have Fiancés in the Philippines: got the email yesterday morning that are case had been reviewed by the NVC and would be forwarded to the US Embassy in Manila. Logged on to the CEAC website today to show my fiancé how to track our case and it is in “ready” status already. 70 days from. NOA-2 received to ready to schedule the interview. All the best to the rest of you to have the same success we have had.

A history of my dilemma as a state government employee: in July of 2020, the California governor decided to take 9.5% of pay for all Local Sacramento Unions and we basically had to take 2 days per month off without pay. The so-called Union leaders spent 4 months negotiating with CalPERS and the Governor to get us a 3% annual raise for the next 3 years with no other perks. Doing the math, that means the $5 million plus dollars going to the Union Reps only got us the next 3 years to get back the salary we lost during 2020-2021. I am aware first-hand on what the government feels about it’s workers.

Terrible week from them. Alway can count on government to have computer issues. Aug 25th case here, I wish they’ll focus to close out previous months before moving to October. This is ridiculous

Also, for the record, I work for the government at the state level, and I can tell you first hand that the majority of government workers have their own pace and even Supervisors are not really given authority to set goals and efficiency standards for government employees. Thankfully, as a military veteran, I hold myself to a higher standard and will not allow myself to be inefficient. I wish I could say the same for all government workers, but it is what it is. Most of their attitudes are “I will get to it when I get to it”. They do not have a care in the world about your situation or despair to obtain your K-1 visa so you can have your fiancé with you. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

It is frustrated to see other people in your received date already got approved and your case is still not being review and approve for unknown reason. I think they last updated the processing time in mid march 2023 so hopefully we will see an update to the processing time this month because it has been six months since the last update. Hopefully they don't increase the processing time to 17 months just so they can avoid inquiry.
