Well, I just today, divided my grains in half, poured some milk over them and put them in the fridge. I'm new to making kefir, about a month now. I love what I'm getting. I get about 3/4 of a quart every 24 hours and my grains are almost 3 times as many as I started with. I divided them because that's what I've been told to do. Thank you for this info. I'm going to go right now and put as many as I can back in my jar that is fermenting. The one thing that I wonder about is this; is my whole milk Keifer going to make me gain weight? It's good and creamy!

I wish I could find someone who has a milk cow around here who would be willing to sell or give me some. Selling raw milk in NC is illegal. Thanks again, and have a great one!!

Im from South Africa, only recently started my Kefir journey. Raw milk is illegal in our country so we have to use pasteurized milk which is all our grocery stores sell. Thanks for your advice, I am doing so much research to appreciate your channel.

I never got good kefir till i used 1/3 grains!
This weekend I talk more about distubing the kefir during ferment. What it does how I use it to my advantage. Since I live the fast life of the modern world.
