The coolest part about Mr Robot was the level construction kit, allowing for literally hours of fun with your siblings.

Great vid OSG! So happy to see Mr Robot and His Robot Factory in this list. One of my favourites growing up; doesn't look like much on the surface but gameplay and controls are on point. Still enjoy playing it today, and even my 8 year old loves to play it for the ability to make your own levels in the Factory. And this is a kid spoiled by all his Switch games. Good stuff!

Thanks, just played some Moons, never seen that game before, you're right it's a good shoot em up with an impressive number of enemies on screen at the same time.

This made me think of a game called Metabolis. It probably wasn't a terribly good game, but I remember it because it had one of the weirdest backstories that C64 games ever had (and there were plenty of odd ones). In this game, you were a guy who had been turned into a bird, and he'd also got a heart problem at the same time. So you had to heal his heart trouble, turn him back into a human, and then escape before the whole place blew up or something. I remember there was no music in the game, only the heartbeat of the bird, which would get faster and faster if you didn't rest or find pills that would help him for a while. The game ended when the poor thing died of a heart attack.

Loving these A-Z of C64 Hidden Gems Videos. Amazing how you've discovered so many great games I've never heard of. Once this series has finished (you've probably already had this suggested several times to you already), a good follow up to it would be the A-Z of Amiga Hidden Gems Videos. Might be a touch tougher but you could look at some of the many great Public Domain games that get overlooked to help fill up the A-Z lists.

Master of the Lamps was another good one. I played C64 games on a black-and-white TV and that made this game challenging since I had to rely mostly on sound to play the correct gongs.

I also recommend Mr. Robot and Madness. They are two of the best platformers on the system, along with Jumpman, Bubble Bobble, Giana Sisters, Gribbly's Day Out, Bruce Lee, and another hidden gem beginning with the letter 'M': Magic Madness.

Magic Madness is actually an arcade conversion of a Japanese game called Wiz that was recently rereleased on Switch..
Madness has a great tune by Hülsbeck.
And Mr. Robot has a simple level editor that I loved to use.

Last but not least a shoutout to the detective game Murder On The Mississippi.

Really enjoyed this one! Especially as Mr Robot and His Robot Factory was there. Love that game, and so does my 8 year old!

MR ROBOT!!! Love this game. Great picks OSG. The music in these games like moon, is it available to download somewhere? That little dinosaur chip tune and the sword throwing one music was stellar!

I really like these - I've been jotting down the games that interest me in a notepad as I watch, so I can play them later (memory's not what it was)

Of all these games it’s Madness that I like the look of the most. It looks like my kind of game. Now going to try it out.

Mark Set Go looks great. Loved the Epyx multi sports games (and hyper sports) and that looks almost as good. Must try that one out.

Mega Thrustball looks a must play. How have I missed that? Moons reminds me of another game but cant remember what. Mark, Set Go looks very polished. Moonfall must have come after Elite....the Display at the bottom is so similar. Best selection yet...no complaints here

Great list. Mr robot is amazing. I must try enigma. Surprised to not see some of the metal warrior in the list. Also loved maziacs in spectrum, (did not knew there was a c64 version)
