A-Z Of Commodore 64 Hidden Gems - Letter A

Hey whatsup guys OSG here with a new series and one that I think you are going to love.
A while ago an Amstrad streamer called YellowBelly asked me to pick 10 C64 games from each letter that I would consider a "Hidden Gem" . He then played them and gave his point of view ...well its my turn now to say just why I picked them
So lets start by asking what is a hidden gem? well for me its a game that delivers a great gaming experience but is somewhat lesser known than the mainstream games.... that doesn't mean that it has to be from obscure publishers though there are some games on my list that are from massive publishers that for some reason or lover were overlooked somewhat in the C64 hay day.
Anyway without more delay lets take a look at C64 Hidden Gems starting with A
Games in this video:-
0.00 intro
1:04 Alien World
1:49 Arachnophobia
2:34 Artic Shipwreck
3:19 Abyss
4:04 Alcazar - The Forgotten Fortress
4:49 Atomino
5:34 Another World
6:19 Atomix
7:04 American 3D Pool
7:49 Alice In Wonderland

Thanks for watching and if you would like to see an Amstrad fans take on these games check them out over on Yellow Bellies channel

IMO the aesthetic where the C=64 really shines is with these simple puzzle games with great sound effects an unique looking graphic style as like the Psygnosis Atomino, beatufil gradient, colorful dithering and detailed pixel art on dark background. I remember I also had a cyber style Pong clone which looked similar that i never found again. Cloud Kingdoms has a similar style as well.

Nice dude. I'd forgotten about that pool game. It was one of the few games that actually contained a reasonable simulation of the real thing.

Brilliant idea for a series OSG and I look forward to seeing them all. Arctic shipwreck is one I'd never heard of but it's certainly an original concept.

Atomix looks like an educative version of Socoban. Maybe I would like to study chemistry in school if I've played this game :D
