Good work matey I appreciate the effort you put into these videos and I will definitely stick around to watch everything 👌🏻. Not sure how old you are I’m 43 so all of this stuff rings super true and brings back a lot of memories.
And I just absolutely love the sound limitations the Commodore 64 has.
I actually wore my Commodore 64 retro shirt to the shop today and a lot of people I did notice looked at it and they probably wondered what the heck it even was🤷🏻‍♂️. Anyway my friend take care be safe, I need to go and edit my next vid
👊🏻😆🇦🇺🍻🍻🍻

Castlevania? Wow, didnt even know that was available for the C64. My favourite C64 game beginning with C was always Crazy Comets. Good shooter with cracking music. Excellent video....looking forward to "D"

I remember seeing screenshots of Cool Croc Twins, but not being able to tell what was going on in them. Thanks for clearing that up!

I've Just started watching your Hidden Gems playlist and deliberately found the 'C' video because I really hoped that Catalypse would be on the list as it's my favourite ever C64 shooter. To see it at No1 was awesome! Thanks for the videos

Having spent time with the C64 version of 'Castlevania' I agree in that while it's not as polished as the NES original, it's a good game in its own right and a faithful port to the extent that even it's secret items are included.

Despite being a life-long C64 gamer I only knew of a few of these games. Just goes to show how rich the C64 catalogue is.

Will have to give Catalyst a try, looks great. I had no idea Castlevania was on C64 either, completely passed me by, maybe didn't get a big release our side of the pond.

Catalyst is a nice clone of Armalyte, in Italy it was very popular because Genias was Italian (one of the few software houses of the time together with the very bad Simulmondo). I would add Caveman Ugh-Lympics (1988, Electronic Arts), Cosmic Tunnels, (1984, Datamost Inc.) and Crazy News (1998, VO Productions).

Chimera - I never knew what to do in this game, so I used to load it just to listen to the music. I still swear that portion of that tune sound like they were inspired by the theme from the movie Summer of '42.

Castor - It's Columns. I always hated Columns.

Nice one, my ears are hurt more by the Castlevania soundtrack than the screams in Chimera. Will have to give that shmup a go too :)

Cosmic Convoy (Taskset) and Centropods were some of the earliest C64 games I had.
I liked them back then but they probably aged badly. But the ones that still hold up today and could be considered hidden gems are probably Cosmic Causeway and Crillion.

My first encounter with Cool Croc Twins was a demo included with Commodore Format Power Pack 24. Such a good game! I was hoping it would be on this list. Will definitely have to check out a few others on this list. Great video!

I had no idea that Paranoia (the P&P RPG) has an adaptation for C64. Only video game based on it, that I was aware of, is Happiness is Mandatory which... is notable for different reasons.

Played the NES one enough, and the C64 port looks good to me, probably with a few tweaks it could be closer to a 1:1 experience. Funny the first Castlevania was ported so heavily to other platforms but neither of the NES sequels, guessing an exclusivity deal. Really enjoying this alphabet approach, missed a lot of cool C64 games myself too. ;)

All these vids have only just started to come out on my page. Weird. Had a mountain to get through the last few days. Some great stuff here.

Chimera, isometric and some great sounds, awesome game!
Never played chicken chase!
Castlevania is superb, must admit the new speccy version is what we always wanted!
Love the gauntlet clone, looks great fun with great music!
Cyber workd again looks great!
Circus attractions is great fun, reminds me of Fiendish Freddy's Big Top O'Fun

CCT, I’m sure I had this on a cover tape but never realised it was released!
Catalypse, awsome shooter. Looks so much like amralyte and is just as good if nit better!
