Most people know that vitamin D is crucial for optimal health, but many don't realize that magnesium is required for vitamin D to "work."

Physicians are trained to do four things:
- Diagnose (certain) diseases,
- Treat disease with pharmaceuticals,
- Treat symptoms with pharmaceuticals, and
- Follow protocols written by physicians who are trained to do four things.
So, when you say something is "common knowledge" - don't be too sure of that.

If you take Vitamin D3, you should be taking Vitamin K2 with it, about 180 to 200 mcg. This PREVENTS calcification.

I think people need to see that it’s not just Thomas saying to do all these things, he’s bringing research into every explanation. This channel isn’t just, hey do this, it’s, hey here is this research, constantly updating to give better informed decisions. That’s what this channel is. Love you Thomas! Haha

I use the JigSaw brand called MagSRT. Active Ingredients: Magnesium (as dimagnesium malate), Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxal-5-phosphate), Folate (as Quatrefolic® 5MTHF), Vitamin B12 (as Methylcobalamin), Malic Acid (as dimagnesium malate). It's a 8 hr time release formula to aid in preventing a bad GI distress. I learned about this form years ago and I believe it may have been you, Thomas, that spoke of it. I enjoyed the video and now to share with my social network friends. For those who think that I'm advertising....I'm NOT.

Soaking in Epsom salt helps the body absorb magnesium sulfate and it can relax your muscles and relieve stress by calming you down a little bit. You don't have to take a full bath if you don't have the time, just soak your feet in warm water with Epsom salt.

You should address vitamin K2 when you talk about D3+mag, it's the third leg of that stool.

I don't think you accurately understand the concept of half-life. Half-life is the time it takes for HALF of a substance to metabolize or break down in the body. A 15-hour half-life doesn't mean something is active in your body for 15 hours. It means your body uses HALF of it at 15 hours. It is extremely important to fully understand this when advising people how frequently to supplement.

Also important is to realize this does not mean it's active for 30 hours, either. The smaller the amount remaining, the shorter the time it takes to halve again because the whole is now reduced by half. It's complicated, but IMPORTANT to understand when you are taking medications 💊 or supplementing.

Aside from that, very interesting information to know, as I am chronically and genetically D deficient.

For those who don't know:
“Chelated” minerals are among the mineral supplements touted for their improved absorption. The word, chelate (pronounced: key late) means to create a ring-like complex, or in loose terms 'to grab and bond to'. Most chelated formulas use protein molecules, i.e. chains of amino acids.

Hey Thomas, I love your channel but bro…In a video you did a month ago entitled, The Best Vitamins To Get at Costco; Full Supplement Haul, you reccommended a product named Calm. (3:42) Apparently you use it but it is magnesium carbonate which converts to Magnesium Citrate, and says so on the label.

However, in this video, you say not to bother with this form of magnesium because, “…it will go right through you.”

This is the reason “influencers” start to lose credibility and reinforces the importance of doing your own research. Thats on me for sure…!

You were totally correct in one sense, it does go right through you!!! Happy returns for all of us who were duped into buying Calm.

From first-hand experience, if you look to relax and unwind, the best form of magnesium is magnesium sulfide or Epsom salts. Take a 30 minutes bath with about 1.5 cups (0.35 l) of it. It will relax you physically and mentally better than any form of magnesium taken orally.

Great information, thank you.
I take 8000 units of D3. Also there’s K2 + Boron + Zinc + MCT oil in each capsule to help with absorption.
My magnesium capsules have seven different types of magnesium.
And I take baths with Epsom salts. Apparently our bodies can absorb magnesium through our skin better than taking supplements. They recommend warm water, but I find it works better if the water is hotter. It’s like I’ve been given a general anaesthetic, always sleeping better after the bath. After my body has cooled down. My mitochondria stops making heat and I feel cold, which is good for sleep as well.

Pin nuts, hemp seeds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds & Coraphil because Megneusim is the center molecule so Coraphil converts to Megneusim somewhere along the line

I was supplementing with 160k of Vitamin D per day (Coimbra Protocol) for 30 days but only started to see a difference when started with the magnesium!

Excellent video, but I think you should have also mentioned vitamin K2. K2 prevents D3 from robbing calcium from bones, and helps D take calcium from arterial and vienal walls.

I have to take a complex magnesium citrate/oxide to keep things “flowing” I have tried the other forms and they back me up. The citrate and oxide is the only way I can get magnesium without it causing constipation. A doctor recommended I switch to magnesium chloride and I tried it one time and woke up with the worst headache I had in my entire life!! I almost went to the ER thinking something was seriously wrong with me. So definitely everyone is different in how they respond to different forms so tread carefully and start slow!

Remember everyone: Your health is unique to you and you should be careful about what you supplement and how much.
