In this video, I'll share the differences between a paid email service, ProtonMail, and one of the most popular email providers in the world, Gmail. I'll point out which of these email providers proves to create stronger privacy in your email life by discussing the importance of end-to-end encryption. Additionally, I'll point out the many useful features that ProtonMail offers that most people are unaware of.

I like how you opened the video, saying that you still use Gmail and frankly can't easily just dump it. That's exactly where I am. It makes me angry that I'm so tangled within the Google services that I feel handicapped without them yet I hate the lack of privacy. It's a true dilemma 😒.

I have just set up a free Proton account for the relatively few emails that require that extra level of security. Thanks for the information.

Thanks for the explainer. I’ve sometimes wondered about Proton mail but didn’t know how it worked with non Proton users.

I was unaware of the encrypted and timed options (at least how to access them), very informational!

I am a HUGE advocate for anything that Proton makes! I will happily replace ANYTHING I currently use with a Proton option when available!

Everything you have and do on Google is indexed and registered by them, in order to collect as much data about you as possible (which is their business model and why their services are “free”).
That is why I have never used Google for my documents, calendars and email.
Google may be secure when sending email, that is not the issue. The issue is their indexing and “reading” of everything we have there.

I've been using ProtonMail paid from the beginning and haven't been hacked even once. Using a paid account got me their calendar and drive when they were in beta. A free account is ok, but a paid account gets you so much more perks. Wouldn't change anything. BTW, their customer service is astounding.

It sounds good to secure emails with a pass-code. Sensitive information sent to family members seems straight forward (you can text or tell them the password). But in dealing with your financial institutions ... are the happy to deal with the passwords needed to unlock the password protected messages or documents ?

What if the bank sends an email to your proton account? Is that encrypted end to end and how do you open that. All emails sent from proton require a key?

I enjoy your videos. When you scan a picture, or documents to send. Is there a risk even using ProtonMail

I chose the Utopia ecosystem for communication, because here I found what I was looking for: security and anonymity.

Oh man this is awesome!
Thanks for making this video. I'm definitely switching to protonmail, I don't want to become a replica of myself from stolen identity lol
