My ex had a tercel. Shifted and ran great. The car just responded so well. I miss that car more than her 😭

I delivered pizzas in a 2002 Toyota Echo for years. Sadly, I retired it at 293k. It still ran, but needed emissions and brake work that would cost too much to justify. It was the absolute base model. My mom bought the cheapest new toyota on the showroom floor. Turned out to be an amazing investment. Even the lowest end Toyotas are more reliable than most other cars on the road.

Crazy thing is I've never seen an Echo/Yaris in a salvage yard unless it's been wrecked.

i bought a used yaris for my son when he was a student. it had about 50000 miles on it. he finished his college while doing pizza delivery and drove it full time for last 6 years. that car has almost miles and still running excellent. his only expense was tires and a battery plus regular oil changes.

I respectfully disagree about the ECHO. There are many with over 100 and 200K miles. It's getting harder to find lower mileage good ones.

Had an 03 Echo stick, for what it was, it was one of the best cars I've ever owned. 42 on the highway, 195, 000, not a drop of oil. No major anything, not a rattle to be heard.

I drove an 02 Echo for 7 years. One of the most dependable vehicles I’ve ever owned. Only sold it, to buy a new car when I came into a bit of money. That car would’ve lasted me for years and years and more years to come. I’ll cherish the good memories we shared.

Owned a 2000 Yaris that gave to my son and he still drives with 278, 000 miles. I own a 2009 Yaris with 120, 000 miles and still going strong. Take care of them and they’ll take care of you.
