A guy tried to sell me nitrogen once. He said the "bad thing" about O2 was that it escaped from the tyre more easily than nitrogen. The salespitch being that if I had all nitrogen in the tyre it wouldn't go flat or need to be checked so often.
I pointed out that if what he was saying was true all I would have to do is keep filling my tyre with regular air and eventually they'd all be full of nitrogen if only the O2 portion kept escaping leaving behind the nitrogen.

The look on a scammers face when you point out the utterly illogical claim of their argument is both satisfying and sad.

You don't need nitrogen in your tires, but remember to use summer air in the summer, and switch to winter air in the winter.

I use Sulfur Hexafluoride to fill up my tires for more downforce.

I use hot air. It's free from politicians. Loved this Scotty.

I use helium so I float over the potholes.

There is a definite benefit using nitrogen in large truck tires...run cooler..retreads last longer with out failure, . aluminum wheels don't oxidize as bad internally

But don't forget to change the air in your tires when you turn your clocks back 🤣

Gotta love Scotty and his logic, something that has slipped away from our world!!!

Costco uses nitrogen with no extra charge. It's about the oxidation (i.e., rust) -- and we know how easy it is for rubber to rust. But it's really those darn tire sensors.

But the Nissan GT-R has nitrogen in it's tires, this means I must have it in my Altima as well.

The "nitrogen" tires shops have been selling isn't pure nitrogen. It is ambient air that has been compressed to about 4, 000 psi. During the compressors used to achieve the high pressure have moisture traps. As the air is compressed water condenses. There are also desicant filters. Really the "nitrogen" is highly compressed air that is dry or had the water removed. This has been used in the tires of aircraft since forever.
BTW this same nitrogen is also used for scuba divers air tanks with one more step or precaution. The air travels through extra traps and filters to remove any compressor oil so the divers won't end up with oil coating their lungs and killing them through suffocation.
(Edit) The selling point that was brought up to me was it's dry regular air compressors don't remove moisture which will over time cause wheels to corrode over time.

For the best performance and purest air you use a bike pump, it takes forever but your tires wont pop from knives, nails, haters, and it fixes your transmission.

I always put regular air in my 94 Celica and still going strong.

Another example of P.T. Barnum said it best!
We used to joke with people and tell them to be sure and change their tire air in the Fall and put in Winter air! We did it free of charge of course and people were soooo happy!!

Air is 80% nitrogen. Plus 1% Argon, which is even more inert.

If you do feel compelled to use nitrogen, make sure you use only natural nitrogen rather than chemical made nitrogen. Fiji or Tibetan is the best.

Every time I see a green cap on a tire valve, it brings a smile to my face, so keep doing it, makes me happy!

Unless you race the nitrogen or helium really works to keep air temp down and lightens them

Always had a little water in your tire in the winter to make sure they never go flat!
