While in USAF tech school, my instructor had a picture of a hand on the wall. The ring finger was but white bone. My instructor said, “If a picture is worth a thousand words, then why do people still have to ask me ‘what happened?’”.

At the industry, a friend was getting out of a scissor lift. His wedding ring got caught in a small but sturdy piece of metal while he was jumping down. Needless to say, his finger was ripped out of his hand. Accidents happen in the smallest of the acts.

I used to wear metal flexible watch bands until I accidentally shorted one out against the car battery. Melted the watch band in half, part of it burning into my arm. I now only wear leather or plastic watch bands attached to plastic non-conductive (cheap) watches.

You know I don't understand why people don't take their watch off when working on their car. Especially when pulling hoses off or wrenching. It is so easy to scratch the dial.
