Confocal imaging of primary human macrophages infected with pseudotyped HIV-1 virus: VSV-G/NL4-3GFP. This virus has Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) in place of the ENV & Nef genes of HIV-1. The green macrophages are infected with HIV-1, while the clear ones are not infected. The blue stain is DAPI, which shows the nucleus of the cell.
