If any of you are using Virtual box, it may be because you are putting it in full screen mode before signing in. If you sign in on windowed and then go into full screen after it's loaded up, that might fix your problem!

after i type in lightdm stop is says "only root can run light display manager, to run as a regular user for testing run with the test mode flag". I dont know what to do now

When the login GUI brought back from the 'service lightdm start' command and I filled with my credential, the black screen is still there. Poor me :(

the best sol. when you arrive to grub stage installation, don't select manualy, select sda option, and sure befor that remove with delete files the distro in vm
