Dr. Chaffee recently addressed this. It wasn't all sailors, it was predominantly British sailor because they were not given meat. And because the British sailors were given limes to make up for having no meat, that's how they became known as "Limeys". It was actually a derogatory term given to them by other sailors who didn't need limes to avoid scurvy.

The sailors primary diet was flour biscuits…… this is why their vitamin C requirements were higher.

YES! Spot-on, as usual. And it wasn't the officers on board the ships that needed the limes, as they were the ones that got the meat; it was the crew, that was given almost exclusively slave food, also known as "carbohydrates."

I just got some blood work done and the doctor said I don't need to take B12 if I don't want to anymore. ❤ Plus everything else looks rather amazing 🤩

Wild salmon roe folks. Its cost is prohibitive for some, but if you look, you can find good deals out there and stock up.

It's full of nutrients, including a decent helping of vitamin C, as well as omega 3's. A little goes a long way. I eat a tsp or so with my carnivore meals. Like a multi vitamin

You need to read up on Dr Paul Marek treating sepsis in ICU with vitamin C. So sick of doctors repeating the “expensive urine” propaganda.

BERRIES are great for getting Vit. C and antioxidants while keeping Blood Sugar low. All berries are low in sugar. The author of Wheat Belly Dr. William Davis says you really do not have to worry about eating too much. Sweet and chili peppers are great for this too. Greens are another great source as well as Cabbage and the other Cruciferous vegetables.

I've heard that James Blunt, the singer, went carnivore and blames that for him getting scurvy. Care to comment Dr Boz?

Vitamin C deficiency causes pain and weakness

Liver, salmon and organ meat are great sources of vitamin C? First time I hear that.
Just looked it up little vitamin C in liver, 23 mg / 100 g, much less in other organs except for brains.
And like a tenth of that in salmon.
So extremely little altogether.

That is because English sailors drank alcohol. Alcohol and carbohydrates block nutrient uptake.

I still drink a lemon a day, because of it's ability to increase your bodies ability to retain nutrients from food, not because of vitamin C. One lemon=5grams of carbohydrates.

love your information that you share on your videos

Also I heard sailors actually ate meat more than limes

What does sweet tooth have to do with vitamin C? Do you mean it’s an excuse to eat fruit? Because if you use a supplement, such as ascorbic acid or sodium ascorbate, it has no effect whatsoever on blood sugar.

I lapsed on carnivore for the last month and I’ve woken up with nosebleeds a few times.
